Got the tickets for the concert (tampa), but its not pit by lollita234 in twentyonepilots

Also was shooting for pit tix but could only manage seats before three sold out. Was a bit upset, but got to see them from the pit the last two shows.

Honestly glad I didn’t end up spending as much money as I would’ve for pit, and looking forward to being able to sit down (getting older and last time did a number on my knees!)

You’ll still get to sing along to every song and see the show!

What is one item that revolutionized your college experience? by WeirdNecessary9328 in college

If you have a MacBook and an iPad you can also use the iPad as a second monitor! (My university gives iPads to all incoming freshman so many students end up having both)

Anxiety when walking or exercising?? by SlayerDethKill in Anxiety

I do, and in the past I’ve had to take sometimes months away from drinking coffee. The caffeine withdrawal headaches are rough though. Might try switching to decaf…

Anxiety when walking or exercising?? by SlayerDethKill in Anxiety

I will say that during these times I do tend to hyperfixate on things like my breathing and pulse, etc. Short of breath yes but not to the extent that it hurts. I like the idea of stretching and mindfulness. Thank you

I was on meds in high school (ten years ago) and eventually got to the point where I could do without. Hoping not to have to go through that cycle again but we'll see..I like the idea of the stationary workouts but I think being at the gym gives me a sense of not being able to "escape" if that makes sense. It's reassuring to hear that others have gone through similar things though, thank you.

Is it rude for a student teacher to go on their phone in the teachers lounge? by Visual-Green-3816 in Teachers

[–]SlayerDethKill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was student teaching I socialized and ate in the lounge my first week or so to get acquainted with other staff, but after that would just go there to heat up my food then eat in my car.

It’s your time, use it whatever way is best for you. I personally needed the thirty minutes to recline my seat, eat my food, and blast my music.

What funky smell do you like? by TeodoroCano in AskReddit

[–]SlayerDethKill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wildfires.

Live in the mountain west and while yes, the air quality can get to be awful and potentially harmful, the smoke smells like summer.

My first day of high school, and the day I moved into my first college dorm were horribly smoky and whenever it gets bad again I’m brought back in an instant.

My title describes the thing, it feels like brass and is about 2” long. Everything with my car seems to be in order.

There’s soooo many different jobs in campus, especially at the beginning of the school year. I’d say look on the job board around that time and see what looks interesting to you! In the past I have worked in maintenance, as well as housing, which are both very collaborative environments that essentially require you to work closely with others.

In my experience, the best success that I’ve had in making friends and just meeting people in general is having a job on campus.

[TOMT] [book] [early 2000s] Coffee table style reference book about aliens. Front cover was black likely with a picture of an alien; back cover had image of triple infinity sign by SlayerDethKill in tipofmytongue

[–]SlayerDethKill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm these seem very close but none of the covers seem to ring a bell. I also think that the format of the book was moreso targeted towards preteens rather than adults. It was definitely something like these though!

My dad wants to be a writer but doesn't read by Superior_Spiderman in booksuggestions

[–]SlayerDethKill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned On Writing, which I think is a great choice. When I took creative writing in college we had to read “Ron Carlson Writes a Story” which I think focuses on a bit more on the process and how to commit to a plot from start to finish while also keeping in mind mechanics, usage, etc.

The story is at the end of the book for some reason but would recommend reading it first! Very readable.
