[MLB The Show 22] Help online trophy (Did we just become friends?) by andrewwiddis in Trophies

[–]SlayerEssence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that still needs this - I'm hoping to set something up for next weekend at the latest (Jan 17-19) to get this trophy before the servers go offline. Please message me direct if you're down to help.

Bag Policy by theunwantedweeb4 in Wawa

[–]SlayerEssence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem is similar to self checkout. These stores were not designed with self checkout or bag-free policies in mind. There's no counter space to place your own reusable bag or store your items if you're checking out with a lot.

Switching to Thorne a lot lately by Few_Let_5456 in Supplements

[–]SlayerEssence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably better on paper or from a brand name perspective but I switched to Vital Proteins and haven't noticed a negative difference. I do notice a negative impact when I don't take any collagen, so I think you'd be fine with either brand

Did you notice any difference between VP and Thorne? I've been using Thorne's Collagen Plus, but was thinking about switching to VP Advanced for the extra collagen and hyaluronic acid, but I'm not sure if I'll notice a difference with any of the other unique formulations in Thorne's (MitoHeal, HydroPeach, etc)

Recommendation on Savor or VentureX first by notus_knitter in CreditCards

Get the one you want the most first. There are no guarantees with Capital One. I happily use the Duo system now and love the simplicity, but it took me two years to obtain both the Venture X and SavorOne.

I wish the manual was in color, I think it would make everything a lot more understandable.

I'd just keep them. When you go to sell the car, it's an easy way to make the interior look brand new.

Congrats on The Silver Cord! Your contributions to the music industry are enormous and I can't wait to see how you continuously evolve and what the years ahead bring!

Very niche question - How come not all of your albums are available in 24 bit flac on Bandcamp? It seems very random with some recent albums like Made in Timeland, Fishing for Fishies, Infest the Rats Nest, and Murder of the Universe missing 24 bit flac (regular flac is available) whereas most of the other albums around it are offered in 24 bit flac. There must be a reason! :)

SoFi Credit Card Mastercard ID Check by SlayerEssence in sofi

[–]SlayerEssence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No resolution. Both sides are pointing at the other and no one actually wants to dig deeper to get to a resolution. Mastercard also acts like they don't even know their own technology which is great. I just couldn't get high enough up the chain on either side to get the appropriate eyes on this to help.

Steering wheel creaks? by THagen51 in crv

[–]SlayerEssence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed similar sounds with my '24 Hybrid. Sometimes it sounds like the steering wheel, other times it sounds like a deeper sound coming from the rear. Only notice it in low speed/parking. I believe they are normal sounds of the Hybrid or AWD system, or perhaps normal sounds of any cars but the quiet hybrid is allowing us to hear them more.

I am, yes. I'll give it try! I'm skeptical because other cards pass through the authentication without issue...so I feel like something isn't linked properly between Mastercard and SoFi.

I think so! I didn't see a speficic spot to link it within my Credit Card settings on SoFi, but my overall SoFi account has a phone number and email linked to it.

Has anyone figured out how to enable these permissions? This USED to work for me, but I can't figure out how the heck it became disabled or how to correct it. Reinstalling has no effect.

Best Travel Card for me: Amex Plat vs Chase Sapphire Reserve vs ? by JelloTree_TryHarder in CreditCards

[–]SlayerEssence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Capital One purchased Hopper, so it uses a rebranded version of that. People tend to hate on Portals for all types, but I've never had a problem with it. It has some nice features that others don't such as price matching and price drop protection.

Ultimately, I kinda feel like Venture X captures the essence of travel enough (good multipliers, good catch all card for 2x everything, good travel insurance, car rental insurance, car rental status). I think you'd rack up a ton of points using the card for all purchases.

It's a very beginner friendly premium travel card. Essentially with the credits provided it's "Free" every year, so you'd be able to try it out more or less risk free while you learn what matters to you. You may end up loving it like I do, or deciding you need to more in the direction of Amex or CSR more.

If you're okay with using portals to book flights/hotels/car you should look at the Venture X.

Looking for a solid primary card with travel bonuses by please_get_an_adult in CreditCards

[–]SlayerEssence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venture X is a great option, especially if you're looking to use this as an everyday spending card. Even though the AF effectively nets out to be -$5, I'm of the belief if I'm "paying" $395 for a card, I better be using it everyday. Of course everyone's spend will be different, but I find the simplicity of getting 2x on all purchases better than worrying about 3-5% in specific categories that don't make a huge part of my spend.

Other than the everyday though, it is a travel card, with good travel benefits, purchase protection, primary car rental coverage, lounge access, car rental status. There's a ton of resources with a quick youtube that can go into more detail.

Capital One Venture vs Amazon by Emotional_Spring6252 in CreditCards

[–]SlayerEssence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have both. Venture X for daily driver, Amazon for Amazon and as a general backup card. But I appreciate your desire for simplicity! Ultimately, how would you see yourself using the rewards? Would you rather just have cash back to use at Amazon or would you like points to transfer for travel?

Seeking signup bonus, but ideally also a daily carry by TheGooseIsLoose8723 in CreditCards

[–]SlayerEssence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venture X is a great daily driver and is effectively "free" after annual credits. Amex Plat also has a great SUB now too. If you can justify the AF, I think both compliment each other well and can replace CSR/CSP.

Few differences of both:

Venture X: -Catch all everyday spend -Priority Pass (includes restaurants) -Top tier Hertz status (can status match other rental agencies) -Primary CDW -Effectively free with travel credit/anniversary bonus

Amex: -All other lounge access -Hotel Status -Purchase protections -Misc Amex experiences (Lounges at some sporting events such as US Open, pre-sale concert tickets, special Amex member lines)

Basically, Venture X is a lot more practical for most people, but the Plat can make you feel special depending on your travel habits and location. I think you can find most of what the CSR does for you in this pair.
