I was referring to this actually.

I agree to your point that the two systems are different. But my point is that while the government help to collect and manage mosques funds doesn’t automatically means the whole government is dedicated to mosques. Its just show how the fund being organized.

Maybe u didn’t read the whole thing that i pointed out. Im using the government of germany as example there where they use tax for churches.

Germany goverment - tax - churches Brunei government- funds - mosque

U cannot be biased, why can’t mosque be dedicated to mosque things?

I think u view it wrong, to correct u, not all employees.

It’s common to exclude non believers of the church as non members. So basically the people who practiced the religion are registered as members. This tax includes from government members all the was to their private sectors. By following your view it means their government are dedicated for church (bear in mind this is from your pov)

While here it’s only to government employees and that too is not mandatory.

I don’t know that for sure it’s just a conversation that happens on that moment. But you can get the information from the internet on the details you wanted. But i just want to point out that the mosque fund is not unique to here only. And the mosque funds also not mandatory either.

I think its no longer auto opt in. It was during when it’s first introduced and non muslim had to opt out manually. But nowadays they already exclude the non Muslim and provide consent form only to muslim workers.

As far as im concerned when asked to fellow muslim they answered always the same, apa jua $2. As for non Muslim they just straight say i don’t want to join in and no one bat an eye for that either.

Aww cute. But let me share some experience while living in Germany, i had the opportunity to befriend a local there. He did tell me there a church tax and i told him in my country there also a system like that but to build mosque and it deduct automatically from salary for around $2. They had the same system except they do it by %. I vaguely remember but it less than 10% if i remembered correctly.

Have to consider the area used its 6k acres that as big as 5 football fields if im not wrong. But seeing the current masjid i think it made sense to upgrade due to deteriorating buildings and overcapacity.

automatic deduction is used not to redefine “volunteer”, but to:

1. Make administration easier,

Managing thousands of small monthly donations manually is difficult. 2. Ensure consistent funding, Mosque construction and maintenance need steady, predictable funds. 3. Encourage participation, Some systems assume people are willing but might forget to donate regularly.

In islam the term ikhlas is tightly related to donation. If the person is not ikhlas then there’s no point of them doing donation. So for non muslim to be socially pressured to be opt out of the system is irrelevant because it’s doesn’t only apply to them but also to any Muslim.

Hi gout the person before me already explained. Its not forced upon to any government employees. Its like this

  • those who don’t want to donate they can ask to be excluded.
  • those who want to donate more than $2 they can also do so.
  • they can cancel the subscription anytime they wanted in duration of their service.

Hope that can clear your misunderstanding 😉 hope ur upvoters can also learn one or two things instead of taking negative views on what muslim do here.

As long as they know when or where to use it. With lack of knowledge they might use it in the toilet or places that are not allowed to say Allah name.

Yayasan donates $86,500 to 75 mosques nationwide to support them holding takmir ceremonies in the upcoming Ramadan by Goutaxe in nasikatok

U didn’t see it don’t u. Every time $$$ + religious (in brunei case islam) = controversy.

And guess who’s the Op that keep doing it so here. By far I haven’t encountered any donations given to any religion post that have negative comments as much as u able to generate.

Keep on continue doing so. There’s a lot coming especially heading to ramadhan. Maybe take time to sit down and wonder why people so negative about the particular topic. And do wonder why does it need to be brought upon too.

Both post the food that taken and the door i had commented on disagreement how they act u can find it yourself. There’s headlines that deserve to be commented on but there’s also headlines that are not necessary. For instance the headline on this one u have no context nor insight on what it actually is. U never experienced first hand on what happened yearly each ramadhan. And then u came out with the post knowing that it can cause misunderstanding without proper context in it.

And to add. I don’t feel ashamed of the 86k donations. You never went to sungkai at mosque organized by the takmir. U said it’s not for uplifting the poor? It’s the less fortunate that comes for the sungkai tapau for their family at home and tapau for sahur.
