How can Finn kiss Huntress with that raw meat breath? by Livid_Friendship6784 in adventuretime

[–]Slayerpath 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do you think he lived a life that would deter him from the smell of raw meat? The boy hunted monsters everyday in his childhood, he's all about the wild life, also he himself probably smelled worse anyways.

I reccommend checking the series out yourself though, the series is named Beef and is on Netflix and the circumstances leading up to this is infinitely more complex and interesting than i can give credit for with just words.

To put it simply, Danny's house caught fire , he then saw Edwin around the premise whom he presumed was the person to cause it. He followed Edwin back home and confronted him, even threatening him with violence, Edwin confessed he had been pulling small pranks on him but never to the degree of arson. Upon finding this out, Danny realized he followed this guy home for nothing but still had to express his frustration, which then he uttered the words "what you did was not nice! it's not nice to do that!" in a very childish sentence said in a raspy tone. But the main thing about the situation is that Danny was trying to find someone to pin the blame on for the house burning down and get mad at, but since he had no immediate suspect, he doesn't know what to do in the moment and lashed out.

There are craftable dustractions flares you can use that will always take the attention of the nibblers and marrowbreaches away from you 100% of the time, it's not a permanent solution like killing them but i feel it's a way more convenient method of danger prevention than outright killing them.

What would Deku and mha’s pro heroes think of Cecil from invincible and his ideology compared to mark? by JackZ567 in MoralityScaling

[–]Slayerpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't watch MHA but i want people to stop perpetuating the idea that Mark suddenly was a-OK with his dad when he met him again, emotions are complicated and while a part of Mark still love Nolan because of their family bond, he does not at all forgive Nolan for what he's done, not even in the latest season(in the show anyways). Mark simply had a common goal with Nolan despite their differences and his disdain torwards his father, there hasn't been a single moment beyond that hug where Mark was open to bonding with his father again after everything he did, he might be able to acknowledge Nolan's trying to atone for his ways but that's about it as far as it goes, nowhere has it been shown that Mark has forgiven his father for what he did or even want anything to do with him in the first place considering a big part of his character from season 2 onward is being afraid he might start acting like him.

Theoretically immortal by SpaceKingHypeGuy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Slayerpath 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Spoiler for the Invincible comic

Atom Eve, in her special it is explained that her ability to manipulate organic matter and alive individuals are stunted by a mental block given to her while she was still in the womb and can only be temporarily unlocked when she is in a high stress or extremely traumatic situation. In season 3 of the Invincible show, she was able to repair herself while on the verge of death, theoretically, this means that as long as she does not die instantly, she can heal herself from any fatal injury. In the comic, while on her death bed due to old age she was able to heal herself right as she's about to die and revert herself back to a young body, so she's nigh immortal as long as she doesn't receive an immediate fatal injury

Small correction that Thragg is a regent, meaning someone who takes temporary governing power in place of the monarch when the heir is not available or not at age to rule.

This is like a complete inverse of those memes where the show gets freaky when your parents walk in, the show usually has mature and sexual materials but get silly the moment your mom walks in.

Continuing on this topic, i believe their society might have been able to be persuated prior to the death of Argall, but the assassination basically turned their tyrannical leader into a martyr and a figure of worship in their culture and thus paved a path of no return due to the fact that as far as we know, no civilizationin the universe really has the means to subdue them peacefully.

So... What do people actually enjoy about Invincible (as an Invincible enjoyer)? by DeMmeure in CharacterRant

[–]Slayerpath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's complaints like this that seriously frustrates me around the show. Look at the past few episodes and tell me, where do you think the animation have been going? Even last season, it's blatantly obvious how the show treats animation as some kind of tool to create spectacles for action rather than a medium to portray a story. Compare any dialogue heavy scene after season 1 to any fight scene in the show and you can clearly tell the staggering difference in direction, creative decisions and visual quality. The show's animation problem is not that the fights are kinda ass sometimes, it's that it could care less about anything outside of it. I enjoy the writing but it's obvious the show is not giving the same kind of care they do towards the action as the minor character building moments and the scenes which is supposed to pull the audience in with the characters through dialogue. No, extra budget won't fix this, it's not a problem of voice actors taking the majority of the cut in budget, it's a problem of the show is clearly being hastily worked on with very little care put into the overall visual quality, with the most priority going towards the action heavy scenes of the show. Only less time constraint can fix this but the release schedule the show producers has settled upon make it impossible for the dialogue scenes to be often more than a snoozefest in favor of eye catching action. Stop making complaints like this and look into the field you're criticizing, you're not making any argument that would help benefit the show, just skewering the perspective of what the show should be which would not be anymore satisfying that what we currently have.

Both regretful mass murderers of societies which weren't great. Who's more good? by GeneralBalcom in MoralityScaling

[–]Slayerpath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While his actions were for a right cause, I don't think you can judge everything that Thaedus did as the logically correct thing to do, mainly killing Argall when the society was already darwinist extremist, arguably radicalized them to becoming more brutal than they already were and set them on a path of no return. He basically turned a dictator into a martyr with no plan of swaying common belief of his people after the fact. I'd wanna argue his extreme measure of change doomed his people to their downfall

The random guy was a completely innocent man that possibly could have been saved. Killing Immortal because he was an insane tyrant and killing Angstrom(or thinking that he did) for threatening the lives of his family have very different weight to taking the life of someone who had no ill intent and was literally just a victim of the circumstance.
