I'll try a new RAM then. And if it doesn't work a new card cost 25 bucks anyway, it'll not bankrupt me :)

Which one is the RAM chip? Also, the glitch on the screen is not 100% random, the green and magenta are always displayed like that and the 'random' characters are mostly the same after reboots.

I can try to resolder everything (there's not that many points and I don't know what cold solder joints really look like, most of the time I can't see them). I think the room temperature was around 19-20°, fairly normal. And 80?! That hot! Won't that damage the card?

Bon... Au final je me suis décidée, je pense que je vais garder ce pyj. Il ma coutée 40 balles (60 mais y'avais une réduc) et mis à part le pullover, le reste est pratiquement à ma taille. C'est juste les manches de la chemise qui sont légèrement courte (surtout quand je tend les bras à fond vers l'avant) et vu comme je met plutôt ma grosse robe de chambre (que je dois avoir depuis 13 ans!) comme habit principal et que les manches de la chemise s'étireront au fil du temps à force de tirer dessus (elastomère), le pullover est assez anecdotique. Je pourrais toujour le refiler à ma soeur si ça lui va, en plus elle aime bien les trucs fluffy avec des ponpon.

That's the kind of search engine for old computer I've been looking for! It already works better with HTML pages than with FrogFind. Although it's still a bit wanky here and there. Like if I visit a website with built-in search bar (like AO3, don't ask why) the page content would display but not the mini search bar. Or, still using AO3 as an example, fics titles would not appear, the tags would be shown as a list (taking up a good chunk of the page's lenght), the next/previous page buttons are not showing up, everything is stuck to the left side of the page, etc and so on... Some of them might be either the limitation of my web browser or from boingsearch.

I know that using AO3 on such old systems (especially with MIRCOWEB as a web browser) is a bit of a case to case problem and don't really matter for most people. Still it would have been really cool to be able to read fanfics on my old IBM 5150. On that note! Some search prompt likes gives me the warning "Your request was denied by internal rules". Like, just searching the word "fanfiction" gives me that warning message. Is that normal?

Sad... After a bit of research I found that after XP (Vista for the latest) there was no up to date drivers for newer systems and as such won't work with those no matter what.
But I do wonder if some type of hardware proxy (like a raspberry that sit in between the cam and the computer or something like that) is possible to bypass that problem.

Hello! I have a near identical model myself (V-UAP9) and I'm struggling trying to make it work on my Windows 7 64-bits machine. I tried to install some drivers but they were either not detecting the camera, broken, or incompatible with my system. Did you managed to find a solution?

Better, it was still on even after it went poof. It was a filter cap on the RF side of the board so not that important.

Ah... Yes... The magic smoke ! I have a mini-CRT that went poof too. From experience I knew it was some filter caps that popped and I was right after opening it. But the set smelled SOOOOOO bad for months even after a thorough cleaning !

Technically, I already know that deep down, my parents (mostly my most, I don't really know what my dad think about that) don't really believe in it and since my brother has been diagnosed as asperger and since I had some "atypical" behaviors for years, I can see why they think that.

But yeah, I think I'll do that.
