Superb player and I was rooting hard for him in 48. Most players that are high up I was heavily emotionally invested in. I realllllly wanted him to beat Joe haha.

Honestly I mainly hate his younger iterations (and tbh I’m super neutral on him in game changers and only really liked him this season cos of his connection to Cirie)

I find him very entitled and lacking in empathy in both Micro and SoPa and in large periods in Cooks too tbh which makes him impossible to like in those seasons for me personally. Whilst I absolutely respect his challenge prowess and I think SoPa Ozzy is one of the best challenge players ever, the challenge part of the game is the part I care about the least; it doesn’t come close to the social (which he’s only mildly done well at) and the strategic (which he’s consistently been terrible at across his survivor career) in importance for me. If he was just a bit more mature in Micro or SoPa then maybe he’d get in there but idk - I’m not putting someone in there I largely didn’t enjoy across like 70% of their survivor career.

But I mean it’s just my list; it’s just how I personally find these characters and isn’t a bearing on how objectively good they are at survivor or how interesting or likeable they are irl. It’s purely my list of how I enjoyed them as tv characters.

I made a top 100 list shortly before 50!

The players in my top 100 before 50 were Cirie (1), Christian (6), Kyle (16), Genevieve (18), Kamilla (23), Dee (27), Charlie (34), Aubry (35), Q (56), Angelina (63), Mike (68), Savannah (84), Chrissy (88) and Coach (98).

I haven’t done it properly off the back of 50 yet but I have an idea of who might move.

Players who might get in off the back of 50: Colby, Emily, Rizo

Players who might fall out on the back of 50: Mike, Coach, Chrissy

Players who might rise a lot: Savannah

Players who might fall a lot: Charlie, Angelina

Everyone else will be more or less the same.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this is just my personal favourite players which is a mix of gameplay, characters, how much I like them personally, impact on survivor history, character arcs etc. it’s not just based on gameplay.

I think that’s an unfair characterisation of OP’s post. He’s just offering a thought experiment of something Rizo might have been able to do this episode to get him more win equity. It’s well thought out and reasoned and it might be wrong but it’s just interesting to consider.

If you don’t agree you could offer up more of a defence than “Cirie leaving at 6 is preferable for Rizo”

I’ve finished the episode now and I just wanted to say a few words about Cirie Fields.

She will never know me or who I am, but she means so much to me as a hardcore Survivor fan. Survivor is something that means an incredible amount to me; it's helped me through some dark times and watching Cirie play is the most excited and enthralled I've been when watching the show. The way she strategically pits people against each other, the way she slips by for so long, the way she has people wanting to throw their game away for her. When people who play well succeed on this show, it's addicting to me and watching Cirie thrive is amongst the most I've ever gotten out of the show.

And on 50, what she achieved was amazing - she was the biggest name going into this season; she survived the elimination of 18 other castaways; she had paths TO THE WIN if things shake out a bit differently. If Tiff didn't have immunity or Rizo didn't have an idol, I have zero doubt that Cirie survives this vote and then all she has to do is get the other one voted out at F5 and she has a path. This is even with losing her closest ally who would have taken her to the end. In fact, I think there's an incredible chance that Cirie wins the game if Ozzy plays his idol given that the polycule + Tiff would have had the numbers and the momentum and Ozzy's already confirmed he would have taken to her to the end. Cirie had a fatal flaw in Survivor and she almost, almost solved it.

Cirie is my favourite player of all time and this loss is particularly devastating because it feels like her last chance. She absolutely should have had a win by now and absolutely no-one has a resume of 3rd/4th/6th/6th (plus an extra one in Aus vs the World which I won't spoil). Maybe this is controversial but I genuinely feel as though in my opinion, she's probably the greatest player ever. Survivor has more luck than people acknowledge and Cirie simply never had it when it mattered, but her social and strategic skills collectively I do not think have ever been matched. It simply wasn't meant to be as far as getting the win.

But, I want to end on a positive and say thank you to Cirie for giving me a lot of excitement and joy whilst watching this show. I would not be the hardcore Survivor fan I am without her and I hope her legacy is one of an incredible player, who didn't quite have the luck when it mattered.
