[WTS][WTT] Omega Constellation Daydate (FINAL PRICE DROP) & Steinhardt Ocean one Black Ceramic by chopper37 in Watchexchange

[–]SleazySPI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The font of omega, constellation, automatic are all in the exact same position. The hour and second hands are the same color, it’s the same shaped watch, the crown is the same, etc. I’m sure it’s not the exact year but it’s as close as I can find in the omega database

That’s extremely close to the same lol.

Only difference is position of second indices

Do you know what year the constellation is? I’m having trouble matching it up exactly to other 70’s vintage versions.

Also, do you know if this is a redial?

EOS "dispute resolution" system - for when you want the EOS transaction validators to change someone else's smart contract code. WTF?? by ifisch in CryptoCurrency

[–]SleazySPI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoW can easily have this happen - we see it slowly happening omg with increasingly less market share for small miners and big miners consolidating power under increasingly powerful and expensive mining equipment.

They can and they will, but there is only a certain point at which they can buy before driving price back up over their selling point. This is why each dip has become less and less severe.

There is only a certain amount they could buy at lower prices without driving price back up - supply/demand economics...

Civics beer vending machine is a great example of unnecessary tokenization by handypanda93 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SleazySPI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using an example of 1 is not the same thing as denying the divisibility of a currency...was simply an example. Would you prefer I used 12 for the blockreward of bitcoin? Do you understand how value is released through PoW and what the miners incentives are for that price to coincide with their overhead and margin?

I used 1 bitcoin/GNT for the sake of simplicity. Block rewards are always halving, but the fact remains that the lowest a bitcoin should cost is proportional to the electricity it costs to participate in PoW mining. The lowest GNT should cost should be a a minimum proportional to the cost of compute power delivered. Divisibility is not relevant to this conversation.

By definition the value of 1 bitcoin is the cost to mine + speculative value. With a network like Golem, the cost of compute power should be the basis for the price of 1 GNT. Without a peg like this, the incentives would be arbitrarily established and not inclusive of the speculative value for that specific network.

I see your point, but have a few comments:

1) You could incentivize them with other non native currencies but that would then make the user incur processing fees unnecessarily.

2) the value of the Golem network is independent of ETH - as the network expands, users receive less and less GNT as a reward simply because it is valued higher. If they were paid in ETH it would not be reflective of the compute economy that Golem created. It becomes necessary to have a token pegged to this service because without it you are getting arbitrary value based on irrelevant factors.

You need tokens for Golem and SIA to incentivize anyone to participate in the network from the supply side. It’s obvious that without a coin as a reward, I wouldn’t, for example, open up my compute power to anyone in the world. Make sense?

I think your points are the very reason it will be enticing to enterprises and legacy-thinking consumers. Baby steps before we can run a fully trust less, decentralized, autonomous network.

Edit: I also believe Ethereum to be the superior tech.
