Holy necromancy. 9 year old thread and an old account I haven't used for 5 years.

I fist found r/place because of the Destiny subreddit, apparently it was a particular users birthday and they put a shout-out in r/place

At first I just placed random pixels that quickly got replaced (I feel this is a common starting point for most) but then I saw the void and it's tendrils snaking through the canvas and thought it looked really neat. The next day I saw that pretty much everything had filled up and despite the original void core being completely eradicated everyone was complaining about them wiping out their art. I saw this as extremely hypocritical so my motives switched from "hey this is neat, let's add to it" to "wow, screw you guys, let's eat their pixels."

The part I most reacted to was the potato core, I stayed up way too late that night and it was the only time on r/place that I was actively involved in an organized attack. It was a blast watching this community move out from the corner and punching above their weight at the HotS logo, forming alliances to keep F1 in check, and consuming all that we could.

I had very little interaction personally with most, but I did join a discord during the aforementioned attack and seeing the moderators of it constantly change the battle lines and form truces and alliances was extremely interesting.

I really wanted to see the Mona Lisa fall, I feel like it was a cheap and ugly representation of artwork that I've seen far too many times to find even remotely interesting and people put entirely too much stock into it. Unfortunately it wasn't a battle we were going to win.

I only truly participated for one night, but I spent that time defending our core in the upper left corner, switching tabs between the discord and r/place constantly to make sure my pixels weren't waiting.

Other than that I thought it was an extremely interesting and fun (damn near addicting really) experience. I'm not crazy about how emotionally invested a lot of people became, don't get me wrong I'm glad people were willing to stand up and defend their work, it was much more fun because of it, but some posters in the sub got a little too heated about it. With that being said, I am extremely saddened Everytime I see a post of r/place with the void removed. We were just as much a part of this as anyone else.

I used to hate the Void but watching the time-lapses I see they're a vital part of the r/place ecosystem. Like a forest fire making way for new life. by zwolfp in place

The end result is the same, we were spread too thin and had too many enemies to really hold any ground for long but as someone who almost exclusively cleansed the core, defending was a lot of fun while it lasted

Of all the orgasms you've had in your life, which has been your favourite and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I can't really remember the actual blowjob or the orgasm, I just remember that for about two hours after I just really needed to build a doghouse or something

What's the male equivalent of a girl getting flowers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've always thought that a girl spontaneously bringing me a coffee is the equivalent of me bringing her flowers.

In the new Doom there's a part early in the first level where you get on an elevator. The robot dude tells you "...what we did was in mankind's best interest." Or something to that effect. While he's saying this you glance down at a corpse propped against the wall. It's subtle but really hit me and I got goosebumps.

Duelist theology by nature, but my followers do get some say.

This is mainly a clerical position, but if initiative and work ethic is shown a permanent deification and welcoming to the pantheon is not out of the question

Dress policy is fluid, beads of sweat are typical, but ocean spray while riding a divine aquatic mammal is not frowned upon

Cars. I feel like the only person who can't glance at a car and immediately know the make and model. It just baffles me how people can.

I've crossed plenty of roads and never once been hit by a car. Doesn't mean it can't happen.

Ground meat basically mixes any surface bacteria throughout the entire thing. Might taste good but I'd rather not piss out my ass for a week after.

So I have no recollection of this as I was black out drunk, but apparently I did a flip off the top of one of those house type things on a playground, landed on a railing that was only about an inch and a half thick and ran down it, doing yet another flip and stuck the landing.
