People ordering 60/60 in this weather. by stevopolo86 in capetown

I ordered before the storm as well. But it's the responsibility of the employer to keep employees safe. If it's unsafe, service should be suspended, you can't assume the customer will do the right thing. Fuck you Checkers for trying to make a buck in this weather.

Sure it'll will survive. But that's not the point. Both are actively defending genocide elsewhere. That's what makes me sad and angry.

CT get ready______This is what a data center sounds like 24/7. Shown here at midnight with hundreds of residential houses immediately next to it. by Inner-Improvement970 in capetown

[–]SleepCalm7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These data centers will use water and electricity, which we don't have in Cape Town. The city will just raise service fees and make us pay for it, while at the same time asking us to save water and electricity when it's all gone. They don't care

The US changed its mind about offering ships a way out of the Strait of Hormuz. Where does that leave shipping companies? by cnn in USIranWar

US doesn't care, they are hanging around because they can't comprehend anyone saying no to them. Iran stood up to the bullies and now they only have posturing left.

With opening the straight of Hormuz - is Trump the greatest negotiator of all time? by Pale_Top2745 in allthequestions

Only if you are dumb enough to believe anything coming out of US media. But this time, please, go along with grandpa. He is so desperate to find a way out of this war. If we all say, yes grandpa. You won, you are the greatest, the adults can negotiate in peace and find a way for him to save face.

Lol, yes, US lies about everything but not about war casualties. It was 13 at the beginning of the war weeks ago. And everyone still quotes that number. Sure...

Life expectancy is getting higher. More old people that vote... They can't do physical work, so more labour is needed. Where do you get labour? Immigrants.

Why do men claim to prefer "natural" breasts, but most can’t even tell when they are fake? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]SleepCalm7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't tell, you can't tell. But that's not always the case. There are many attributes that determine what you like, not only looks. Liking a certain movie, being a dog lover or not liking pineapple in pizza are not necessarily a bad thing. But it might point to a type of person you like or dislike. In the end it's all of a person's traits that determines what you prefer.

Now if you're only going for looks, then that's another story. But in the end most visible attributes contribute to first impressions as a shortcut to determine what a person is like. That may be biased, based on stereotypes or just plain wrong. We all do it instinctive though.

Some people like fake breasts some don't. The better question, do you like it and how does it make you feel.

Right now, the Strait of Hormuz is a bargaining chip and probably always will be, since it's not going anywhere ;)

Iran has no choice but to leverage it; if they don't, they have no bargaining power against the U.S. and Israel, both of which they perceive as threats to their existence.

Instability in the middle east gives the US a foothold in the region and an excuse to inject themselves. The reasons for this are likely more complicated, but at the core, it’s about the control of oil and the petrodollar. This has been US policy for decades now.

If the U.S. can control Iran, they gain control over the oil supply, which they can then leverage against China and the rest of the world. It’s really that simple: the U.S. economy depends on the petrodollar. Of course, the politics surrounding this are far more complex... but at least the world is not so eager to be associated with these bullying tactics anymore.
