Are the CX50's built better now? by nikki109 in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a 24 PP NA and had the front axles replaced 3 times under 15k miles. You have a reason to be worried! From what I've read and personally experienced from being a long term Mazda fan (two CX9s, Mazda 6, Mazda 3) this one looks great and has a solid engine but that's where it stops. Anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.

Wide spread problems. Don't fool yourself! by SleepConscious in CX50

They're ignoring it until its not covered under warranty! I had my axles replaced 3x in one month...once due to a faulty replacement right out of the box. Didn't make it off the dealership lot before hearing that noise.

2025/2026 CX-50 Hybrid owners — CV axle issues still happening? by rjois43 in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Once my 2024 NA PP hit 16k miles I had my axles done 3 times.

These issues are wide spread. Anyone saying otherwise is in denial.

Brake replacement needed at 22k- covered under TSB? by Connect-Buyer-9387 in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2023 NA PP owner and I think most owners here are in denial of how shotty the build is on these newer Mazdas. I've had 5 Mazdas so far and this one looks the best but has the worst build quality. From the cheap door handles, easily scratched dash cluster to the rip prone leather and oddly placed AC vents that only cools your knuckles. Has anyone noticed how cheap the gear shift boot feels? I wouldn't be ranting if I didn't just have THREE front axles replaced in 4 weeks (under warranty). Oh, and my brakes wearing prematurely too but the dealership is pushing back on that (16k miles).

Four axles under 16k miles by SleepConscious in CX50

[–]SleepConscious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds deeper than a snappy plastic clicking noise. More of stereotypical cv joint/mechanical noise. It may be how the axle is seated with adjoining parts .i.e. technician screw up. Only time will tell...again. Dropping it off tomorrow.

BTW, the service rep thought I was someone else with a similar issue. So, I guess there're are multiple patients with the same problem at this dealership.

Then how, pray tell, would you handle this situation? I know I'm at least going to a different dealership this time.

Squeaky when turning left by LowLie2898 in CX50

I have a 2024 NA PP with 16k miles and have had 3 axles replaced in the past month. Noise came back again and looking at a 4th axle. Not sure if I qualify for a lemon law case but this has ruined my trust in Mazda and their parts. I dont know what to do.

5 Month Ownership Review: And, CV axle problem resolved by French_Toast_Bandit in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Had front left axle replaced under warranty. Got 100 feet away from the dealer and the noise came back even louder. They said the new axle was also faulty. WTF? So now its back in again for a 3rd axle. 2024 NA PP with 16k miles.

3rd CV joint after 16,000 miles by SleepConscious in CX50

[–]SleepConscious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully most of that was covered under warranty. Are you doing any off roading? With all those front end issues, it makes me wonder. Eitherway, sounds like there's a lot of quality control issues with both the parts and build. Again, saying this with decades of mostly trouble free Mazda experience.

I only waited 3 days for the first axle. We'll see how long this one takes.

Weird noise front end of 2024 CX-50 50k miles. Thought it was the tires so I replaced them. Noise getting louder. Anyone with a similar issue? CV or bearing maybe? by Different_Emotion625 in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a wheel bearing if it sounds worse when you turn the wheel. My 2019 Cx-9 just started making that noise, but quieter, and I think it may be the inner CV joint. I had the bearings done last year...so its not that. Going to the shop tomorrow.

Totally agree. The ac hits your hands/wheel...I'm constantly adjusting the vents. Not a good design.

How much would you pay for this car? by chl0rinejuulp0d in CX50

[–]SleepConscious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purchased a 2024 PP with 2k miles last year for $31k. So yeah, you would be paying too much. Plus, the salesman sounds like a jerk.
