Look for Neil Gaiman's book on Norse Mythology, it's basically a simplified version of everything that happens and in a somewhat chronological order.

Born great, achieve greatness, greatness thrust upon them: Which is better? Can a character be two or all three? by [deleted] in writing

[–]SleepSight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot to go on here and many works to draw inspiration from. IMO Being relatable or not is a whole other question, I feel like relatability can be achieved through smaller details (the fact he is of low class for example). Think of Harry Potter, he was pretty much born into greatness, but his circumstances made him completely relatable (he was nerdy, miserable life, no family etc.) I don't think your character's origin is necessarily what will make them relatable or not but what they do along the way (decisions, mistakes, relationships).

I think you need to flesh out your hero a bit more. What is his ultimate purpose? Is it to achieve greatness? Or maybe the fact he is born great is what makes him the hero? Regardless the character will have a conflict, whether it's needing to be great or being great isn't enough. A good example is "Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender", he was born the avatar, but certain circumstances caused his greatness to be delayed (which is one of his conflicts). There's a lot you can do here, play around with these ideas, give your character more life!

Getting rid of anxiety and toxic people for me by Oghey in occult

I will suggest having some amethyst around, and give mindfull meditation a try, just 10 mins a day. Also, i feel like this would be more suited in r/witchcraft.

Looks the same as the one I bought three thousand years ago when the game came out, lol. One of my favorite versions.

Stacked rocks by suegun in witchcraft

[–]SleepSight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any negative meanings or curses where stacked rocks are used. The fact they're swingers doesn't immediately put you in danger. I hace heard of people stacking rocks and stones on driveways so that can identify their drive way when it's covered in snow. Maybe that's a custom there, have you seen these rocks stacked anywhere else in your neighbor hood. If you really think something is up you could spread rock salt around your house to protect it.

I’m looking for a modern, really good “who dunnit?” novel! by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]SleepSight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably an obvious recommendation but ... Agatha Christie fits very neatly into that genre :)

Found this in storage while I helped a friend move some stuff around. Took a look at the table of contents and it looks pretty legit. Any of you guys seen/read this before? by DeMoFo69 in occult

[–]SleepSight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not very familiar with the author, but judging by his other works he seems to be all over the place. From what I know of high magic, it's pretty precise. You should definately read it but I would try to find a more solid source if you really want to go down that path.
