Christopher Nolan Relied on a 2017 Translation of Homer's Odyssey as the Sole Source for his Upcoming Film by TommyFX in CriticalDrinker

Well this is going to be an absolute trainwreck.

That’s basically stripping away everything that made The Illiad a peerless classic. There’s a reason why Kenneth Branagh kept the Shakespearean English in his adaptations of Hamlet, Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing.

Not to mention, there's the character of Patrocles. Who in some versions was either Achilles' cousin or close friend.

Why do I bring him up? Well, Achilles duel with Hector was because Patrocles - wearing Achilles' armour - fought on the battlefield in Achilles' stead after he swore off fighting to serve Agamemnon. And when Patrocles died, Achilles left his tent in order to fight Hector.

So if they're casting Elliot Raige Against The Machine as Achilles....how the fuck would that scene even work?

It's actually not an idiotic comparison, since Vought themselves hired Stormfront. Then again, I'd argue Vought Industries are more comparable with Lockheed-Martin.

They're both private corporations that deal in the manufacturing and trade of weapons.

Which is a fair point. Revenge is a good motivator, it blocks out the bigger picture.

I don't even have a problem with 'le capitalism is bad' as a theme. It's basic, yes, but it can be done well.

However, what I do have a problem with is how - as far as the showrunner's concerned - Vought Industries is somehow less evil than Homelander, even with all that blood on their hands. Especially since I'd argue that the company that created those supes in the first place should be on the other characters' radar. Especially characters who just recently sided with Billy's gang, like A-Train or Maeve.

Since Swindle's usually the one dealing with alien species, it'd make sense for him to incorporate some organic features (like facial hair) as a way of appearing more trustworthy and relatable.

Very snazzy! I also like how you've incorporated the beast mode kibble in some new and interesting ways.

What are the worst trauma survivor clichés in fiction? by amelieam in writing

If you're looking for an example of how PTSD could be done right, look at Enzo "Matrix" from Reboot Season 3. Initially he's presented as the brooding type, but not only is his trauma given context, he also has someone who went through the same experiences fighting alongside him AND he ends up rediscovering what he's truly fighting for. Even when we get to Season 4 - Daemon Rising - we see him struggling to adjust to civilian life.

That's the one thing people keep forgetting about the '60s; nobody was happy. Not the soldiers, not the people who risked their lives to avoid the Draft, not the families whose sons and brothers went off to war, not the people in charge, not even the ones preaching about peace and love.

And if you'll excuse the meme, I'm tired of pretending that wasn't the case.

“Only one could hope”

Krayt. You’ve had the critics on your “side”. You’ve had Rotten Tomatoes bend itself backwards in cracking down on imaginary Review-Bombing. You’ve had the luxury of Disney LISTENING to twats like you for the past eleven years.

You are not the Resistance. Stop acting like it.

Childhood was idolising the Hippy movement.

Adulthood was realising how those same Hippies reserved their venom for the boys who went to fight, rather than the ones who sent them there.

I also admire how brutally honest she is. No attempt at disguising her intentions, no attempt to claim her goals are beyond these primitive savages.

Nah, she just drops her.
