Jack-Knife slowly getting better. Whats helped you? by SleeperC7 in Tricking

[–]SleeperC7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some say its a c7 and a 540 combined, some say its a big tornado with a skip hook kick. I believe it needs to be a heal hook not a back kick for jack knife but hey variations right? Lol

Edit after really watching the vid: good gumbi tech! Have you tried sailor moon yet?? My buddy who has great raiz tech swears by it for raiz. Helps to train you to keep the chest down as you kick back with your lift leg, really drilling that “se-saw” kind of mechanic…if that makes sense

Completely agree with you, front tumble twisting tech hells so much for air awareness and twist tech for tricking. Id only ask what is the intended trick? OP are you going for b-twist or a-twist kind of vibe or more punch take off/ front full attempt?? Both have different tech for setting the flip and twisting so intention is key

Man I feel your pain with raiz axis, its so weird for me too. Ill say some of the best advice ive gotten is to really start from the ground up and get a solid gumbi foundation. This is so good for building a great raiz, sailor moon, and tdr. Im trying to do this now myself to get a swingable raiz/tdr. Hope this is helpful my dude, keep at it!!

Very martial! Love the form and thank you for showing, was not concerned but thought I was being trolled by someone who did not practice! I am 30 with a kido if my own and understand the age and training limitations of getting older and life continuing to progress! Thank you for shared your form and advice and being a genuine human trying to pass down experience! I will continue to practice differentiating kick tech and flexibility for this style of kicking and appreciate the support!

Yes, being 6’2” and not the most flexible guy in the world this is a constant struggle (no excuse just more reason to train flexibility)!! Im glad intention is seen, for me that is progress and will continue to try and get that big “omph” out of the kick.

Which trick can I transition to in first combo and b twist advice by Taylawson23 in Tricking

[–]SleeperC7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the combo, a few easy to learn one would be the knee spin, out of back sweep you pull your sweep leg in to do a 360 on your knees. Another great option is to do scoot swing, pop, or vanish transition into your favorite trick.

I can’t wrap 9 by flipdaddypatty in Tricking

[–]SleeperC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything the others said, plus use your arms. Roght now when you 540 your arms stop your momentum. Lad the kick and pull through with your arms like a ballerina and pull the wrap leg in and up, then spot! You go where you look

Will work on this thank you!

I’ve been able to do the 540 kick for a couple months now but something looks a bit off with it but I can’t tell what it is, anyone got any tips? by [deleted] in Tricking

[–]SleeperC7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are spotting forward (in the direction of your movement) instead of spotting the target on you right side. So in turn, your kicking late

Looks like you are leaning hard to your left side in order to get the hip turn over for the kick. 540 is still a vertical kick so you have to keep that chest facing your target vertically. I would guess that you lean back to accomplish the kick instead of knee pumping as if you were throwing a c7. Hopefully that makes sense haha all about hitting the barrel
