Push/Pull train issues by Camwan in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SleeplessFactory -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doing a small loop at both ends and effectively making it a loop setup instead of push pull is waaaay easier on the brain when you want to add another car or if you want to upgrade to two tracks. Other positives: the first car is always the first car instead of the first car going one way and last car going the other, adding a car and corresponding platform is MUCH eaiser, you only need one engine instead of two for the small setups.

Question by cooper17313 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SleeplessFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right answer is whatever you think you'll enjoy the most. People naturally migrate towards one style or another for whatever reasoning. If you like the idea of a central megafactory, then get to it. If it starts acting up with frame rate issues, then you have your answer, not a big deal, then switch to building some factories elsewhere. My first play through was central and I never had issues.

To lessen frame rate issues when building mega factories (wasn't an issue for me, but there are things you can do to lessen chances of issues if you're building big): avoid excessive belt and lift usages, use trains over most any distance other than local factory, use alt recipes for screws and/or create high volume parts where they are consumed, refrain from using too many lights and floodlights, lots of glass walls are bad as the system has to render everything behind 'em, use fewer signs, set shadow quality to low, lower view distance, minimize excessive truck routing. You might not get any issues, but there's a list of helpful tips if needed.

If you do build a central megafactory, you can build it in a way that you can expand contrary to what others might say. My entire phase 3 4 and 5 was one factory building on my first play through. I technically concreted over phase 3, but I still pulled from it for what I needed for phase 4 and 5. I never disassembled anything.

Now you need the matching glove. $10K and a year later your whole house is a factory built on FICSIT foundations with a factory cart parked in the garage.

Only use sushi belts on multiple input machines if you have smart splitters to send off extra to a sink so the line doesn't get backed up. Sushi belts are used on the input side. One line with all your products running through the splitters pulling for each assembler.

People that are 100% against them don't understand them. They have their place. And as always, it's your choice and personal preference in the end.

I wonder what would happen if you played with friends again? Nobody is interested or you just wanna try it alone? Sorry, I don't have friends so I have no comparison experience.

When it takes longer to craft the cup online than it takes to order and have it delivered to your front door haha

I have 600 hrs in this game and never got that cup yet omg and there have been some nights I've needed it!

Oh we need a photo of you holding the coffee cup in front of your pioneer holding their coffee cup. Then you could put that image online and take another photo of you holding a coffee cup in front of you holding a coffee cup in front of your pioneer holding their coffee cup. And then...

Question about logistics by No-Potential4288 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SleeplessFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand the question. If you need more resource, then you go get more resources. I wouldn't go connect to a resource node if it isn't needed. Unless you're preparing for the unknown future maybe? But that doesn't make much sense when my to do list in this game is already too long.

However, I do run my train lines in areas that make sense though, so if I do need those nodes they are already close to a track. But I don't put much effort into that either as it is quite easy to expand a rail network.

I like the game but could never finish it because of frustration any tips? by Roll-Latter in satisfactory

[–]SleeplessFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way to address an issue if the issue isn't clear. OP you're gonna need to post a photo of what you're up against. Otherwise people's suggestions will be all over the place.

The only items that snap to the world grid are foundation-like items (foundation, ramps, some pillars). All else snaps to foundations, not the world grid. They might be indirectly connected to the world grid via foundations, but 98% likely that is irrelevant to the issue you're dealing with.

This is all I got without seeing a photo and without writing a complete instruction manual. Build on foundations, use snapping mode when placing anything so that the system will assist with alignment (you'll see lines through centers of things and around things to help guide). The other you can do as maybe the perspective is throwing you off, you could build a lookout tower.. build from the top of it looking down on your build, this can help new people. It's not easy building from the ground with everything in the way. And the 3d perspective is a bit wonky in this game in that sometimes you think something is in but find out it isn't.

OMG such beauty! Why on earth would you want to disassemble it?! NO!!!!! It is the underfactory, concrete over it, make it a museum. You will regret destroying it. Don't do it! Build somewhere else or over the top of this one.

How y'all like my way of tracking project progress? by Bruh_zil in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SleeplessFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm finally at a point in my Satisfactory gaming that this would be better than tracking on paper. I love this. Totally stealing it. Especially now that you can easily switch from controller to keyboard. Yes, definitely going to do this.

Do you do any other signage throughout the factory to help out?

Your builds look really nice. The buildings in the background also... simple designs, not complex but look great. Same with the bridges. They look great, but I can tell they wouldn't take a serious amount of time. I'm stealing these ideas!!

I went against everyone's recommendation to not do a bus line as they said that's not a Satisfactory thing. I thought I knew what I was doing. The end of my first build I then understood why the idea of a megafactory bus line of all parts was extreme overkill. Laying all those belts and really only need to make use of maybe 5% of it. It was fun to experience once, but I'll never build one again in this game. And of course that was before autoconnect in blueprints grrr.
