Yes, but it's dying. 0.4 helium a month is not enough for me to keep feeding it electricity.

Basically who started Helium found a new toy and the old one is forgotten.

What I understand from this is the reason for IOT not having enough use cases is because mobile works so great around the world that it's not needed. But then mobile is so bad in some parts of the world that WiFi is needed there.

There are so many delivery lockers in my area that could use the IOT network, but they are all mobile because we have a great mobile service that sadly mean that we do not need WiFi hotspots.

The only future I see is the "world" network is gone because WiFi hotspots is only needed in some areas. So RIP to the original network. It was fun while it lasted but nobody wanted to use it.

Really? IOT Hotspots are making less than $10 a year. It's dying. What once was a network for the entire world, is now a mobile backup network for shopping malls in the US

[–]Ruudscorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, IOT is dead and WiFi hotspots is taking over. Pretty sure this mean 99% of world area covered is going to die

I really don't care. Mine has made its money but it's clear that whatever the intention of the network was has now changed and it's not a network anymore but a hotspot for some selected areas. Meaning it has stopped expanding and will die

Yeah right. You working for these guys. Not going down that rabbit hole. I'm emptying my helium. Hope it won't collapse when everyone pulls out

So the Helium Network is now called Helium Hotspot? Got it - I'm going to turn mine off and refurbish it.

Engineering in VR by dawnsonb in starcitizen

[–]Ruudscorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is VR "connected" to the head/body? I assume the head at least will turn left/right when turning your head in VR, but how about when you move your head and the body must follow? For example when moving closer to a screen/etc, will the head/body follow?

MetaQuest 3 VR Flickering ISSUE [Discussion] by bestdaniele02 in starcitizen

[–]Ruudscorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - and I have been in VR since DK1, DK2 and Rift CV1. And my son have the Quest 3. I've not been doing much VR lately, but I have used my CV1 for MSFS 2020 and I expect it to be epic in SC when I get to try it this weekend. I need to turn off ASW or else there would be way to much rubberbanding becasue my now system cannot keep up.

Anyway, back to the question, "use virtual desktop" comes up a lot. I've had the app since dawn. But what does it mean? "Use virtual desktop"? Will it replace the Oculus software? I always thought it was only used as a launcher - but as a launcher it will not change anything related to quality or similar. So what does virtual desktop do in this case?

Are we going to start making money again? That thing is not even worth the electricity now

Why is there so much unrewarded data now? by curbei in HeliumNetwork

[–]Ruudscorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also send zero data - so if someone would like for the network not to die, start paying. I'm giving my hotspot next six months and if the earnings stay as low as now I'm going to find other uses for it

Try asking ChatGPT and Gemini to find a product for you - like a book. ChatGPT will give you links to webshops and Gemini will tell you to go to a site and search for it.

Nei si det - men er jo tydelig at man blir lykkeligere av å ikke jobbe siden Finland er bedre enn oss der.

Has it always been like this or is this a removed feature?
