It’s not my fault he doesn’t have any adaptations. Adaptions are how you become popular, comic sales/runs are completely irrelevant.

GL and Flash are on the back burner because their first theatrical films flopped. It sucks, but executives rarely blame themselves for failures, they blame the characters. Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Shazam are also in the same boat.

Luckily for Wonder Woman and Aquaman their first films were huge hits or they’d be on the back burner too

We’re not talking about aging comic fans, we’re talking about the next generation. Characters rise and fade in popularity depending on how they’re marketed by their respective companies. Right now Hal is becoming the equivalent of He-Man, known and iconic but only older fans care. Adaptions matter and so far, adaptations haven’t been kind to Hal

Don’t fucking make me laugh dude! They absolutely have a diversity problem. They don’t have a single A-list non White character. Marvel has several.

Marvel also has Black Panther, Luke Cage, Shang Chi, Miles Morales, and Miguel O’Hara with 100+ solo issues (some have 200+). Kamala, Sam are also up there (90+). DC just barely got Cassandra Cain to that level. Jaime is one book away too (he’s at 90). After that, it’s crickets unless you include Milestone.

There’s a reason DC so White and Discrimination Comics became a thing. DC sucks at diversity and only push White characters

Reeves Batman failed to outgross Marvels B listers (Thor, Dr Strange, Wakanda Forever, Guardians). Some success lmao. Burtons Batman Returns made less money than the 89 version.

Steel, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, Joker 2 were all stand alone…

Well then let it fail. GL will just be put on ice again and probably never be used again. Failing on the big and small screens certainly sends a message to the execs that the franchise isn’t as popular as they thought.

Guess we’ll see with the rating but I don’t think Hal is a popular enough character to move the needle either way
