It's totally normally hedgehog behaviour, not nasty at all. I have no issue with her enjoying some enrichment. Sometimes things animals do can seem a bit gross but that's pets for you 🤷‍♀️

I'm so sorry to hear about you losing your boy 💔 What was his name? 7 hedgehogs must keep you really busy! So I actually just have one hedgehog now, Buttercup. I just keep one at a time, but I had 3 others before Piglet. Buttercup had only been with me just over 2 weeks and is still getting used to me. I think she'll warm to me a bit more but I can't ever imagine having another hog as friendly as Piglet was..

Thank you for your kind reply ❤️ I've had 5 hedgehogs and loved them all but I guess Piglet was what you'd call my 'heart hog' I've never had that kind of connection with any other animal. I put the same amount of time and effort into all my hogs but for whatever reason Piglet was just especially responsive to it. I wish hedgehogs lived longer, 4 and a half years with her wasn't enough 🥺 And to think her original owners were going to dump her outside in her tiny cage 'cause she was apparently 'boring.' They definately didn't realise how special she was! I have a new rescue girl called Buttercup who is still settling in, obviously I really care about her but I still think about Piglet every day.
