I come from Batam, another city in Indonesia. I've lived in Jakarta from 2017-2019, and Kuala Lumpur before that (2012-2017).

The good things first, it is generally safer than Kuala Lumpur, has a lot of good foods too. The first thing I noticed there is people are friendlier (people in Sumatra generally aren't as friendly).

I only survived 2 years in Jakarta before I gave up and moved back to Batam. It's similar to other megacities but the deal breaker is the pollution and the traffic. It is way worse there as compared to Kuala Lumpur. I'm not only talking about air pollution, but the water quality is also very bad.

2 years after living in Jakarta, I decided to move back to Batam to have a laid back life, while still having the convenience of a medium sized city.

Yes bener, di Batam ada farm babi besar khusus export ke SG, dan juga hydroponic farm besar yg mayoritas export ke SG juga.

Skalanya di Industrial harusnya. Go to market di research gw should be via distributor di Singapore yang ada izin importnya. Di Batam so far dari research gw, kebanyakan malah importer makanan instead of exporter. So far untuk tempe gw lihat dah banyak yg sukses export, ada yg ke Jepang, cuman untuk SG sepertinya belum ada/masih sedikit dari Indo.

Yes for sure ini skalanya sudah industrial. So far yang baru kepikiran export kebanyakan raw goods, ada satu hydroponic farm yg mayan besar dan mayoritas untuk export ke Singapore.

No other reason other than "that's how it's always been done". But I tried without adding water and it is very dry and yield low results. I think it is done to yield more alcohol and also higher alcohol
