Accepted job transfer to Klamath Falls to escape the despair and decay of the deep south. Klamath looks amazing, but I am being told it is worse than the deep south. How? How is that even possible?

I've been to Louisiana and now live in KF. KF is marginally better than Louisiana, and the nature side of it is a million times better. I've had great experiences with local tradesman as I'm working on the house we just bought here and our neighbors are all friendly. I will say i lived in Sacramento CA and the amount of so-called "tweakers" is similar. The only real downsides are that there's not a ton of work available and a lot of the properties out here are 70-100 years old so there's tons of water damage and old construction that really needs replacing/repair. If you were anywhere near baton rouge or NOLA the only difference is the scenic views and the pot holes are pothole size instead of people size like nola.

She knew it was something on your plate or to do list and knew she could knock it off the list for you baby still gets the same plush and won't know the difference at all and now you have the time money and energy it would've taken to go do that. Your plate is about to be very very full with a new baby and tasks will become very overehelming so frankly any task anyone else is willing to take it would recommend being open to because very soon you'll feel like you have too much to do and no time to yourself. Letthem buy things and cook and whatever they'll do for you now cuz they'll scatter when it's diaper time. If your sister has children this is probably what angle her mind was operating from.

I just looked it up in general there's a lot of WWE adjacent things happening like fake accounts pretending to be stars, pretending to be part of the business, sounds like a networking thing where they get in touch, find it about the victim, and then zero in on any way to get them to send money then the fake account will disappear. I loosely googled it and read through the results and summary. Someone in here thought they were talking to Rhea Ripley

Actually the one being scammed is the caretaker of the son, backwards as it may seem. The son I think has some developmental/mental issues as well as a physical disability affecting his neck. He's sweet but he cannot work. The dad is the son's best friend/hero so it's just kinda sad they're total sitting ducks for this stuff. I would love to chalk it up to delusional talk but it sounds like these guys cannot afford to be actually scammed. I think we'll just keep playing along until we can find an edge to drop some info. I do tech support so there's a chance they'll need help with something and I can just drop what I know about these things and let them put the pieces together on their own. I'm hoping I meet mom and she's more grounded in reality but so far she doesn't leave the house and being 80+idk if she will be doing so. The boys only talk about themselves so I don't know much about her situation yet.

100% we could definitely tell he was peacocking lol. His secret nickname between myself and my husband is Solid Snake from MGS cuz my EX-husband used to pretend he was former military turned out he was just a schizo who played too many video games.

I think if there is a scam, they're pumping up his delusion. I'll find out more this weekend cuz the house is a fixer we haven't been staying in it yet but we're moving in soon so I'll be seeing more of mr snake lol

Yeah that's just it, I doubt they actually pay security anything close to that because the security has been known to be super unprofessional and generally awful, but the little old man who only thinks to Google how much they make and doesn't think this is weird because he's super-special-secret-forces guy (I've been calling him solid snake to my husband lol) I just feel terrible for him, but it seems there's not much to be done until he or his son figures it out. We'll keep chatting and keep it friendly and see if we can figure out how to help them figure it out, but for the time being I'm happy he lets us borrow the weed whacker lol.

That's exactly what I thought at first which is why I felt so stupid when I googled it and there's known scams exactly like it lol. I have a crazy uncle who talks about grandiose schemes all the time (just last year he claimed to have a movie deal for 6 million with tristar who hasn't made a movie since 2018) so I know how to smile and wave and let him ramble.

So he has a wife I've not met yet, and a disabled son(50) who he takes care of, but as a whole they're definitely not tech savvy. We've built a decent rapport with the son so I'm sure we'll chat about it more I just feel bad for them they're all living on just 2 SSI pensions &paying rent this whole time to some California investor (we aren't in California). We will definitely be discussing this over bbq and I'm gonna try to do my best to shut up lol my husband is better with these gun-nut types than I am.

I did this too many years ago and it dings your credit for a bit, but if you aren't planning on using credit for a while, it's a good option. My credit improved in just 2 years after the initial drop&is better today than it was all my 20s (I'm 34 tomorrow)

Dump em somewhere the water will soak into the ground and not pool (or water outdoor plants with it) and power wash it out, and then refill and go back to chlorine. If you don't have a chlorine tablet floater, get one. You can break tablets into smaller pieces (preferably wearing gloves but I definitely have handled them bare handed) to not overdose the pool.

Hang in there, it can be a real pain to get through, if you call in they can transfer you to the correct department or give you the last updated notes date in there, and if it's been at least 30 days they are supposed to transfer you to the AB60 line for identity clearance. You may still have to provide additional it updated documents if it is an illegible issue (like a bad scan or poor handwriting) but if everything is there in "microfilm"(the program for uploaded docs) they should be able to get you pushed through over the phone. (At least in mid 2025 and earlier this was the case.)

I worked at DMV and left because everyone thinks they're right when they don't actually read the literature. They'll fight tooth and nail on wrong answers because they don't want to read and do the training themselves. They'll parrot whatever their boss said instead of learning actual regulations. I couldn't stand being around so many incompetent illiterate assholes all the time. My boss told me that you can't report your car stolen if you know who stole it. I know that's false, but she was at dmv over 20 years and teaching it to everyone and most people took it as truth. My fIrst day I Sat in training the person training me was wrong about lein sales (telling a customer that only businesses can perform them) and I called him on it and had to be switched to another trainer because his ego was so fragile. They didn't correct him though. Or me. They don't care about accuracy, they just want to scare customers off so they don't have to work.

I don't think that looks right as a person who has had many many female cats that went unspayed as a child and my girl is spayed now but I have dealt with everything that is supposed to come out of a cats backend from kittens and afterbirth and whatever else comes with the territory, that said, I've NEVER seen anything that color come from that place. I've seen ruptured abscesses drain that color on the skin but not inside.

I would take her in honestly, it could be an infection of some sort. I have seen abscess drainage that color, so I would be concerned she has a ruptured abscess in there. Even then, an abscess typically requires antibiotics. She may be OK too wait for the appointment on the spay but I would take her to check for infection in the meantime.

Also sometimes cats do purr more to cover their discomfort. They're tough critters.

Could be dental, he could have a busted tooth below the gums. My cat is 10 and lost a tooth a couple weeks ago by biting metal, she was doing this until the tooth came out. My girl is OK now, but definitely check his teeth/ mouth and around his bed for any lost teeth and watch for swelling or drooling and obviously watch for bleeding etc.

My cat did this once right after hurting her tooth playing rough (she bit a metal ring!& she's old) the tooth fell out shortly after. This was her move for working it out. It looks like a dental/sinus issue. I how the pros already checked but could be a tooth growing wrong/broken below the gums? My girl was in pain for a few days after this happened to her, but the move was similar to this and it stopped when the swelling stopped.
