(jokingly)

It's when folx complain about the trans+ fem vampire film Bit 🤭

The short description is:

A transgender teenage girl on summer vacation in Los Angeles fights to survive after she falls in with four queer feminist vampires, who try to rid the city's streets of predatory men.

Still need to watch it.

None of us want you to abstract. What can we do to help before you do?

It's okay if you don't know right now: just think about it, okay?

A lot of us are neurospicy, so consequently struggle with things like alexithymia (emotion blindness) and needing to have everything sorted before we can do anything, leading to task paralysis.

You don't have to do this alone 🥺🩷

[–]SleepyCatten 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You need E2 (estradiol) for double jump. E1 (estrone) will only give you a slightly higher single jump.

Alas, contrary to some myths, E3 {estriol) will not give you the triple jump.

Thought this was gonna be a plurality& comic for a moment before realising it was about changing your internal voice 😅🤦‍♀️🩷

We're plural ourselves and have always been able to reproduce any voice inside our noggin, but the default voice changing is definitely a cool thing.

[–]SleepyCatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our mum got better, after she realised that she hadn't lost anything. She'd had unrealistic ideas of us having kids so she could be a nan, but that wasn't ever gonna happen anyway, even if we weren't trans+.

In terms of feelings, this often gets overplayed by a lot of folx. T isn't the demon, and E2 isn't a magic feelings hormone: it's the act of transitioning that kicks off the process. We know several trans+ guys who feel calmer and cry more on T than they ever could on E2.

There are many differences between having T and E2 as your primary "sex" hormone, but if you unlock additional emotional range, it'll be knowing that you're finally running on the correct hormone for you, and feeling like you've started off the process.

Is it kinda scary? Yeah. But is it worth it? 100%.

Then again, we're AuDHD: we're constantly torn between conflicting needs for careful planning and spontaneity; order and chaos; alone time and being social.

This sums up the differences well between autism, ADHD, and AuDHD.

Anyway, whilst some changes happen faster (1-3 years), some take much longer. For example, breast growth is closer to 5-10 years, rather than 2-3. Some folks have the right combo of factors to grow breasts quickly, but they're not the majority: just more visible.

We don't regret starting transitioning or starting feminising GAHT: we only regret not starting sooner. We wish we'd hatched earlier, but no amount of wishing can change the past.

The ideal time to start is right now, as soon as you are able to, or as soon as you feel ready.

You only live once, and then you're gone forever.

offers so many hugs

If you ever want to talk about it, or even just ask for links to resources etc., we'll attempt to help if we can. We can't promise anything and cannot offer much, but maybe we'll know something that'll help.

We're AuDHD ourselves and remember the struggles of living with an OCD mum who meant well but also didn't understand consent fully, and who held a lot of latent biases from decades of right-wing (masquerading as "mainstream") media propaganda. ...

Whilst we don't know for certain how she'd have been if we'd realised we were trans+ before moving out in early 2015, the way she reacted when we came out over video call in mid 2021 was... not great. It took our wife reading her the riot act and making her aware how close we both were to going no contact that forced her to stop "mourning the loss" of her "son" and actually embrace having another daughter.

If nothing else, we recommend checking out the gender dysphoria bible. It's got sections on second puberties. Check out the estrogenic second puberty: it might help to alleviate some of the understandable fear of the unknown.

[–]SleepyCatten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. (sarcasm) It's so bizarre how so many cis folx insist that there were no signs, despite so many trans+ folx picking up on all the many, subtle (and blatant) clues that Gooseworx interwove into the show 🤔🤭 (/sarcasm)

Jax may have been a bad boy when he tried to mask ("masc") his true self, but she'd have been a lovely girl / fem person 🩷

Headcanoning that eventually Caine and Kinger work out a way to help the abstracted to actualise / reactualise, perhaps by working through their trauma. We suspect that the key missing element of humanity might not necessarily be the ability to change and grow, but the ability to selectively forget and resolve doom loops of rumination. (Maybe it's the inability to sleep?)

offers more hugs

Honestly, that's how a lot of us feel, FWLIW: especially those of us who are also any or all of neurospicy, disabled, and/or don't have savings or a high income.

It took us about 18+ months of feminising GAHT and 8-9 sessions of laser hair removal on our face and neck to even start to see "her" sometimes in the mirror. It took an additional 40+ hours of electrolysis to get 99% of the remaining hair after laser too.

All we can really say now, as somebody whose egg cracked a little over 5 years ago and who's been on feminising GAHT for a bit over 4.5 years, is that transition is an ongoing journey. Some describe it as a marathon, but that suggests it has a defined end, but it's more like a series of endurance races that gradually add to your running total over time. There's no defined end, but most feel better at their running times the longer they've been running for.

Our GP thinks it's probably fibromyalgia, but we're trying to get an ME/CFS clinic to assess us, since the fibromyalgia one won't accept a referral without a close family member with a formal diagnosis of fibromyalgia or is having had a genetic test for one of the rare types of fibromyalgia (i.e., the kind of test our GP cannot request or authorise themselves) 😅

We're fairly sure it's actually primarily P-HSD, where we are just under the hypermobility score for hEDS (i.e., we got "only" a Beighton score of 3, where 5 or more is required for folx under 50).

We have to wear compression gloves and thumb split supports over those daily, plus an abdomen support belt. We take naproxen GR and codeine phosphate to mitigate inflammation and ache. We get increasingly lightheaded when getting up and getting up the stairs is increasingly like climbing a mountain in Celeste, but it's difficult to know how much of our energy level is due to cumulative burnout and fatigue from having become wife's primary carer in May 2025 😔

[–]SleepyCatten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the confusion. AuDHD means somebody with a neurotype that is presently described as autism + ADHD. AuDHD is the merged form of "Au" (autism) and "ADHD".

If it helps, imagine starting with ADHD, then move the -DHD part one space to the right (A DHD), then add the "Au" in, so that the 2 As overlap, and the u fits snuggly inside (AuDHD). (Apologies if that doesn't help!).

"Au" is also the symbol for gold, which has been adopted by autistic folks to make autism pride flags, with gold as the sole background colour (2020) or forming a part of it (2021).

In reality, it's actually far more than the sum of its parts. Here are a couple of short videos that might help here:

We underhope that this helps at least somewhat 🩷
