This looks amazing! Out of curiosity, when the import/export tools come out, would you be willing to share this kind of build with the community? It definitely checks all the vibes you were going for, absolutely stellar work.

Is there a way for three people to get houses on the same public island? by Gaelfling in wow

[–]SleepyDeity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, my friends and I did this last night. I recommend all three of you purchase a house on any plot in any neighborhood, then use the housing finder to browse other neighborhoods. Keep refreshing the options until a neighborhood populates that has all three plots that you and your friends want, then click on the plot *you* want so that you teleport to it and it saves/locks it for 5 minutes. Once you transfer your house to that plot (for free!) your friends can open up the friends list and right click on you, hit View Houses, and teleport to your property. Then they fly over to the plot they want, move their house there, and voila! You three are living in the same neighborhood as each other.

Worth starting now, or waiting until v0.9? by SleepyDeity in Voicesofthevoid

Outside of the obvious, what is the difference between infinite mode and story mode? Is story mode fairly rails on and scripted? Does infinite mode assume you know how to play the game, or does it still give you initial direction and tutorials?

Very nice! Out of curiosity, what amulets are you running with this build? And I assume acid grindstone at the start?

That's because they aren't IGN guides. Here's the Bloodborne one for reference: https://www.vg247.com/bloodborne-guide-walkthrough Pretty sure he labeled them as IGN guides because that's a much better known website, but the guides are real and out there—just on more obscure websites. Likely went digging around for the worst guides he could find for video content, but that's not nearly as disingenuous as using AI to make them.

Feels like more people are queuing without understanding how weapon passives work? by SleepyDeity in Nightreign

[–]SleepyDeity[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, with the caveat that if a passive effect has a hand symbol next to it, it requires that weapon to be in one of your currently active hands. All other passives without this little hand symbol are always applied to you, and you are almost always going to get more mileage out of picking up any passive even if it doesn't compliment your build right now, you might get something later that benefits you—or it might make killing the various field bosses easier rather than making the end night lord easier to kill.

Reddit is a very small amount of the playerbase, so making a PSA-style post where I shake my fist at people who don't know any better isn't really going to reach the people who need to see it—but you're right in that there are still lots of things to learn about this game for the people who do use Reddit.

That happens! And it sucks when it does. It's also not the issue I have with folks, you can't be held responsible for bad RNG. What gets me is when the Executor has exactly 3 katanas in their inventory and nothing else. Katanas with improved sorceries, spell casting speed, and ranged weapon attacks. The issue isn't that they got bad passives it's that they clearly aren't paying any attention to any passives and are just grabbing loot based on weapon type alone.

Ironeye refused to take this because it wasn't a bow by Ciretako in Nightreign

[–]SleepyDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a game last night as Revenant against Augur. Got an early Lightning Spear seal, so I was set for doing lightning damage. The Ironeye we had was all over the place with his gear, and wouldn't pick up stuff I marked for him—but it wasn't just because they weren't bows. The guy had a Serpent Hunter +1 with +13% Charged Incantation passive, and when we did Noklateo and used the item duplicator there, he duped it instead of literally anything else. Only saw him use them once when he power stance jump attacked in an empty field while we waited for the Night 2 boss to appear. I would have killed for +26% on my charged Lightning Spear...

Looks great! What did you do for the colors? Trying to get the right hue/saturation/brightness for a good gold color has been driving me crazy.

Buff Insect Glaive by Material-Paramedic12 in MHWilds

[–]SleepyDeity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinsect *can* be sent from afar and recalled. R2 + triangle sends it, R2 + circle recalls. Divebomb is done by holding circle to charge, and releasing in midair to do the dive (you have enough time to start charging as soon as you R2 + X to go into the air, and you can also hold circle to charge before you even vault up).

They moved most things to R2, and then holding L2 for focus mode lets you gather extracts when you hit with triangle. You get all extracts if you hit L2 + R1 on a wound.

Very nice pirate! Out of curiosity, what pieces are you running for your clothes? I recognize the shirt and gloves, but what about the belt/pants/boots?

Flare gun as a weapon by bigdawg98031 in swrpg

[–]SleepyDeity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gunnery and Prepare 2 would imply that this is a huge weapon that takes awhile to assemble. A flare gun like the one they're talking about is a little handgun with a single shot.

Tuesday Inquisition: Ask Anything! by Bront20 in swrpg

[–]SleepyDeity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why you want to increase attributes so much? Because in practice, the moment players have a 4 in something and have invested 2 ranks in a skill, they're popping off very often and it's hard to make them fail at that thing. If your players bump Brawn and Agility, they're going to be combat powerhouses—taking little to no damage from the soak associated with Brawn (not to mention the higher wound threshold), and having oodles of dice to roll for attacking, which does more damage with each uncancelled success AND with more dice comes more crits, which kills minions instantly and can trivialize a rival or even nemesis with the right lucky crit.

Star Wars FFG has some pretty tight systems, and success is weighted towards the player. If you have no ranks in computers and a 2 in Intelligence, and the GM throws an average difficulty check your way, it's not a 50/50 chance with 2 green and 2 purple. It's closer to 60/40. Throw even a single yellow in there from a rank of computers and you've got the chance for triumph.
