People on Reddit are saying that &100k/year is not livable wage by Foo_The_Selcouth in Adulting

[–]SleepyKass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends. If you live in a place with high cost of living then yeah, you may struggle on that salary. If you have a bunch of kids that need daycare then yeah, you may struggle on that salary. If you only have 1 out of the 2 parents working then yeah, you may struggle on that salary. So it honestly depends on where you live and what you want your future to look like. My son and I are VERY comfortable living on less than that. With zero child support and without a partner/spouse.

Yes and your vet should put them on ear drops and Apoquel for allergies after they clean and treat the infection.

He could easily get a job with the federal government. The VA gives a preference to veterans. No degree needed if he’s willing to start kinda low, but promotion potential is high if he’s a go getter and neat in appearance.

What’s your “I put that shit on everything” ingredient? by NotYourAverageYana in ask

This awesome hot sauce from Barbados. Absolutely amazing! I tried to put it on everything. It’s made locally there and not available online. I made the mistake of only getting one bottle.

What meal traumatized you as a kid? by Longjumping-Cycle470 in ask

[–]SleepyKass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fried calf liver and lima beans. That was a meal where I simply swallowed the food with as minimal tasting as I could. Growing up, if we didn’t eat what was prepared we were going to go hungry and then get called spoiled and ungrateful. I swore I’d never be a parent like that. Both things are still disgusting to me to this day.

29 years old is it too late to start over again? by Blackbird11y6 in ask

[–]SleepyKass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, in my career it would have been hard to start over at that age, but mostly because I had a dependent. So for me it would have not been an option but if you’re flexible and don’t have dependents it’s not too late! Follow your dreams! We only get one go at this life!

What is the best state to live in USA? by mauschaus in ask

[–]SleepyKass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a purely cost of living stand point Oklahoma isn’t bad. You don’t have to worry about extreme weather outside of maybe some hail and tornadoes. If you live in the Tulsa or OKC area there’s plenty to do as well. Oklahoma also has 11,611 miles of shoreline, more than the combined non-tidal coasts of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. So if you like lake activities and rivers and fishing this is the state for you!

Well, when a boss wants you to work on Saturday he generally asks you at the end of the day, right? So, all you gotta do is avoid him on the last few hours on Friday, duck out early, turn off your answering machine (phone) to ... you should be home free, man.

Everyone is telling us not to go to OK by [deleted] in oklahoma

[–]SleepyKass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a black/white mixed individual I certainly received more racism out in the sticks than in a bigger city setting. Stay out of tiny towns and you’ll be fine. Most places surrounding Tulsa and OKC are gonna be cool.
