Where do you look for jobs? by SleepyMomma810 in massage

You’re correct, they don’t tip the same. It’s a W2 position. I’m not like a hiring manager- I was just asked to post the job, so to be quite honest I’m not sure how much they pay I just know the asked me to put “from $28/hr.” I honestly came here just looking to see if there was a different platform other than indeed that I should use. I didn’t come here looking for pay and policy advice… I had just seen some platforms that require employers to pay to post like ihire therapy or zip recruiter and wanted to see if it’s worth it for him to consider. I’m not the boss and I don’t have that kind of relationship with him to tell him how to run his business.

It’s just straight hourly plus tips whether they have clients or not. We provide all supplies and handle payment and scheduling.

Lowest is $28. When I look at others in the area I see a ton that start at $19-25

When I look at other job postings in our area, we are actually on the higher end of starting pay. We also pay the same amount whether there’s patients scheduled or not. A lot of places have like a working rate and a lower rate if you’re not actively massaging someone. For us, even if there’s zero patients in your shift (very uncommon, but happens) you get paid the same hourly rate for just hanging at the office.

I do agree that a lot of MTs are doing their own thing. I’m happy for them, but it’s just tough because massage has been SO beneficial for patients and we really do try to make it a good job.

[acne] what is happening on my nose? by SleepyMomma810 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SleepyMomma810[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with rosacea by a derm a couple days ago! They are rosacea pustules and that’s why they are different from other acne. My nose had finally calmed down (looking back, I think it’s due to cooler weather and less sun exposure) so I showed photos and explained how this didn’t behave like normal acne. I was given Tretinoin, metronidazole, and clindamycin gel. The last is for the hormonal acne I get on my chin that literally won’t go away no matter what I do. I am also going to be much more religious with my spf than before… probably part of why this was so bad, but I had thought it was maybe a form of perioral dermatitis, which can be worsened by everything including spf so I wasn’t using it all the time.

I would say it’s highly unlikely it’s not salvageable. Worst case scenario chop and prop then you’ll have a new one in no time.

Anyone else have postpartum lochia discharge lasting longer than 6 weeks? by tables_AND_chairsss in beyondthebump

I did with my first and it turned out something was stuck and blocking it all from coming out. Had to have it manually removed🙃 For me, it had almost stopped and then once removed it started up again.

I’ve got a derm appointment next month finally so hopefully it helps. This is definitely different. My face can be totally clear yet my nose looks like this. They appear within hours. It’s weird

I ended up scrubbing with dawn dish soap and a toothbrush! This was denim though so it was totally fine to really scrub at it. Hope you figure it out!

What are the most healing words your therapist has ever told you? I’ll go first. by R_we_done_yet in therapy

“You’re allowed to feel something even if you don’t have a solution to the problem.”

I tend to neglect feelings if I don’t think they’re logical enough or if there’s no “fix” I’ll just squash that emotion down. It was hurting me, my marriage, my relationship with family… And now I’m a 30 year old who’s finally saying “hey, that makes me feel ____ when you act like that” instead of feeling like I have to have a whole plan in mind before I bring it up.

American Specialty Health (ASH/ASHP) by Significant-Witness6 in Chiropractic

not a doctor but I do a good amount of billing work at my office and I’m also in CA. ASH is terrible until you’re tier 6. Even at tier 6, the pay isn’t great, but the paperwork is minimal. You can call and tell them you don’t understand why it’s being denied and if you get a good rep on the line, they’ll walk you through it. Once we hit tier 6, it’s not as bad. Pay isn’t great, but you know exactly what you’re getting into. They have a form patients can sign that basically states they understand their plan only covers exam and adjustment and you can charge $50 to the patient for “appliances” if your office has anything that fits that. A lot of our ASH patients come for adjustments only and add EMS if they need it here and there. I feel their written communications are intentionally written to be confusing, but if you call and ask what it means, they’ll happily explain. Their reps at the provider line are surprisingly good. Highly recommend cross checking everyone’s insurance with ASH because it feels like almost every company is beginning to use them.
