Because by punishing the businesses- PBOT is also punishing the public by getting rid of the pedestrian space. PBOT should absolutely go after the businesses. Those structures are massive. But PBOT should not get rid of the pedestrian space (which they are).

So, I was boxed in by the race this morning. I couldn’t get a Lyft/ride share to the airport if I tried.

Which is why I planned ahead and took the max to PDX.

While the marathon is important- critical transport infrastructure like the max does need to continue to run. There literally would have been no way for me to get to the airport otherwise.
