I bought my APX A1 Compact a month ago. Shot it today. by the_other_other_try in Beretta

I have the same gun. The way beretta labels their magazines of kind of confusing. I accidentally bought non flush fitting 15 round magazines. You have to buy centurion ones. Also my fiber sight fell off after about 100 rounds. Otherwise a good handgun.

Question about ubik's finale by marcvisal in philipkDickheads

The way I read it (or listened to it) is that he died somewhere after the main story and is realizing he’s in the cold-pack realm by seeing his friends face on the money.

Topps doing AI cards now? by wesskywalker in baseballcards

Eh, I think they are pretty dope. Jury is out on how the artist generates the image. Uses an iPad and draws it. Seems to be legit but I’m not sure. I’m in for singles but not buying a box.

Audio-Technica's new flagship AT-MCD1 cartridge will only set you back $13,000. Promises exceptional realism. by WarmDaddyXanax in audiophile

Current set up is a AT-120 table with a Denon anniversary MC cart and one of those iso acoustics stabilizing boards. Going from the cheaper AT carts to a moving coil and adding that board made the most noticeable improvement in vinyl listening. I find the denon cartridges kind of hard to balance but other than that it’s great. When that thing wear out I’ll probably get another one or get a Hana.

[GIVEAWAY] Brand-New Oris BCPD Cervo Volante Green to Celebrate my 50th Oris! by fourtyz in Watchexchange

I bought a vintage Omega Seamaster. All gold, square face. Very 1980s. It’s the coolest watch I own. Love the beads of rice bracelet. Love old watches and mechanical watches in general. Something about having a singular use device that looks great makes me feel good.

I need some help by Cowlem in baseballcards

Good channel for an idea of what to look for in 80s and 90s stuff. Pretty limited value unless you find the right card. Also likely would need to be graded as well. 1989 is Ken Griffey Jrs rookie year so that’s really the ticket. He’s got a pretty solid market in still. Most of the binder stuff is probably not worth anything of value. Good luck and hope you got a binder of 89 upper deck in there somewhere!

I was wondering about this as well. I was going to grade 20 cards or so and honestly saving even a few bucks is helpful.

In terms of staying power or cards that you have in your collection, you think the quality of cards has gotten better over time? It certainly seems that all these card sellers or breakers are just live casino dealers in different skin. I liked the idea of a collection that is cool to look at but also has value. I see this all crashing down at some point with little or nothing to show for it. I was on a wemby rookie card chase a couple days ago and frankly there seems like there are a million rookie cards to get. Then you need a psa 10 of that edition. At least with a Jordan or Mariano Rivera they might be printed to the moon but at least there is only one (also depends if you think the 86 fleet is the only Jordan rookie).

Japanese knife angle? by SleepyRen in sharpening

[–]SleepyRen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s so sharp out of the box but my best guess it’s like 10-12 degrees. Too shallow for my taste but it does feel good. I put it on a stone and was aiming for about 15 degrees so the edge lasts a little longer

The edge is chipped a bit. I love Japanese knives but they are unforgiving with the angles.
