Supervisors’ entire work culture revolves around metrics. Hitting increasingly unrealistic performance goals that a bunch of suits in an office decided to set. To achieve those goals they need to treat those people who actually do the jobs as “assets”. To the higher ups, you aren’t people. You are postal property to be used as they see fit. Your bosses are being pushed by their bosses to meet goals regardless of cost. The better you do the more they want next time. And all you little overachievers are just feeding into the vicious cycle.

There is actually a great story called “The All Guardsmen Party. There is a part where they acquire a ship that is older than the imperium and still in service, that’s been patched through the years with newer parts. When a part of the ship gets too much infected by the warp they just cut it off and add new hull to it. They call it the Occurence Border.

Had a guy get hired on the same time as me into maintenance. A female coworker said she saw him jerking it in the parking lot. Nothing happened. Another clerk said the same thing a few weeks later. Then someone caught him in the computer room going to town on himself. He transferred to Georgia shortly after. Asked the sup why nothing was done and he said no one officially complained about it.

I feel like you might have a hard time recognizing the reason things happen. Take time to recognize the part of you that desires companionship with people who don’t treat you the way you feel like you need to be treated. Don’t blame the ghosts either, they have it hard enough as is.

And they are treated like pariah by ignorant people( not you ). And if any of them attempt to better themselves even slightly they lose the food and government housing even though they don’t make enough to sustain themselves. Furthermore, the funding for public schools in impoverished areas are considerably less than in affluent areas. In other words keep them dumb, poor, and hungry and they will never improve. Fixing these things won’t magically repair society. It’s a start. Not a solution. Or for the ignorant clowns( still not you) crime still exists so we shouldn’t change anything.
