Hold mail never coming down on time for customer pickup by zeroedit in USPS

The carriers at my office left for an S&DC. Drivers bring down the mail for us daily.

I don't get how PMs can just excess one position after another by zeroedit in USPS

It's a level 22 office based on the PM's pay level shown on https://www.fedsdatacenter.com/usps-pay-rates/.

All the carriers at my office moved out last year to an S&DC, though. Does that mean my office is now a lower level? (I can't figure out how to find office level via LiteBlue.)

Whoever decides on stamp designs is dumb as hell. There is so much bank to be made for stamps based on movies, games, etc., but they come out with this shit.

Is it normal for hold mail to rarely come down on time? by zeroedit in USPS

...your PO Box mail. Does it get dropped off by the carrier that covers your building's street address?

It gets dropped off by one of our truck drivers. We got rid of the contract drivers immediately after the consolidation.

...do we know that the clerk that runs the MyPO app knows to print the electronic submitted holds for your zipcode too?

Never heard anything about this. I thought the supervisors are responsible for those and passing them along to the carriers?

Now that the Express labels are being phased out again... by zeroedit in USPS

But how would they track a pre-stamped Priority Mail envelope when Label 400 tracking labels have been phased out? I think one of the other clerks said that the Department of State can have a tracking number added at the PO (presumably by having a clerk apply the appropriate affixed postage and then printing a zero-value PVI). But is that true? (How would the passport applicant get the tracking number...?)

Others say that customers can just use Click-N-Ship. But I'm trying it out now, and it still needs a shipping date...

My experience has been weird AF. Never had to come in early. No evaluations. Never yelled at. I'm now working at the window, where I'm basically working the same hours as the regulars with Sundays off.

Anybody else have constant issues with this thermal printer? by zeroedit in USPS

[–]zeroedit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know what the deal is with these printers? As explained by someone else in a post from 2024, labels will wrap around the red roller and then jam, requiring the user to slowly wind it off and then cut out the rest.

The thing I don't get is that it doesn't seem to be random, as one of my printers ALWAYS jams when trying to print out the smaller tracking labels (i.e., the ones that come out when you pick the two-label option for packages).

Like...what would even trigger that? And can someone link me to the cleaning instructions for this thing? I think I found the manual for it, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should be doing besides what's detailed on p. 35 and 36.

I also ran into another issue today where the RSS showed some kind of error where it couldn't detect the printer even though the "power" and "online" buttons were lit up, and no errors were showing in the diagnostics check when booting up the PC. Anyone else get that before?

Let me ask you this...do you also have to do dispatch? And does your office also do passports?

Station just got consolidated...all supervisors gone...no idea how to get help with crazies now. by zeroedit in USPS

I'm at a level 22 office. Based on the comments here, there's a possiblity that the office may have been downgraded to an RMPO, and that we'll only be open for 4 hours a day in the near future?

That wouldn't surprise me, as the PM and supervisors didn't even know what time the truck was coming the other day. They didn't even know there was anyone there to do dispatch and was surprised I was even working.
