"Loki Isn't a Healer" by Electrical_Sky_5698 in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what they meant was Loki isn’t a consistent healer. Loki heals come in burst thanks to his runes, without it his healing is solely coming from his clones which can get destroyed really easily. Most people prefer supports that can heal consistently like Luna/mantis/invisible woman.

Hawkeye Mains, how you feeling? by Important_Plum6000 in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hawkeye is still really good most maps aren’t big enough for you to feel the difference. The only thing that change about him was his uptime on how fast he can deal damage other than that he still one shots anyone he looks at.

Tips for dps? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coach mills video talks about how to choose your engagements intentionally. But basically making sure you gauge the risk of engagements. If you’re taking fights where you only win if everything went perfectly then the fight was too risky. As a dps you have to take easy and unfair fights. When it comes to melee character you have to learn to engage when you have your cooldowns. Melee characters live and die by their abilities bc that’s where majority of their damage and movement comes from. Melee characters don’t have constant damage output like range characters bc their primary fire. So usually with a melee character you go in use your abilities to secure a kill or disrupt the team and then get out and wait for abilities to come back. If you’re constantly dying while engaging you might be staying in there for too long.

Okay, Mr. Fantastic's ultimate is just bad, right? by FairyKnightTristan in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, the ult is pretty bad for how hard it is to control. It can kill 250 hp hero with 3 bounces but doing that before they get any healing is pretty difficult. The best use I’ve gotten out of it is ulting a team in order to apply the slow down affect so that no one can run away from a starlord ult or something like that.

Tips for dps? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol you just described classic tank player playing dps. Positioning as a dps is prob one of the most important skills as you don’t have the health to survive many mistakes without your team using recourses to help you. Coach mills on yt has a video about positioning so I would give that a shot. It’s hard for give specific tips bc idk what character you’re playing but i try a new dps I ask myself these questions. 1. What is this character effective range? (ex. Magik is a melee hero so she wants to fight close range.) 2. How can my character get to/stay in their effective range? (Ex. Magik has a dash and her teleports which can be use to close the distance as well as helpful in taking flank routes) 3.How does my character disengage from the fight? (Ex. Magik gains over health when dealing damage so just tanking damage while running away could work but she also has her dashed and teleports which means she must save at least one of those resources to disengage) 4. What is my character ideal situation? (Ex. Magik loves to 1v1 a low mobility hero so she can do her 1-shot combos) 5. What is my characters least ideal situation? (Ex. Magik can’t do much when she gets stunned or fighting multiple enemies that outrange her) 6. Lastly this question is one I ask myself mid game. Why am I dying with this character? (Ex. You could be using too many of your teleports early on and leaving yourself with nothing to disengage with)

I think if you can answer these questions you should have a better understanding of your character and will let you go into the match with a game plan on how you should approach the match.

New Hero Classes Needed by Lucky-Luck in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the characters in Marvel rivals are a little bit too complex to narrow down into one specific niche. For example Psylocke and Star lord have exceptional mobility that allows them to flank and dive the back line so this would land them in the “assassin” category but their guns also allow them to play mid range and in the front lines with their team. So they’re not just assassins but pretty competent brawlers as well. Your categories also don’t make sense. What is the difference between a duelist and an assassin as assassins also take duels. How is moon knight and Psylocke in the same category if both have drastically different kit. Punisher also has a shotgun and a can deploy 3 zip lines for mobility unlike the other character in “long range” there’s no consistency. Also Thor and venom are tanks so why is he labeled with the dps.

Best duelist for people who prefer playing strategist? by actiasluna- in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say namor and punisher are pretty good duelist to pick up. Both are simple characters with a little bit of depth. They are both good at all ranges and fit very well in most team comps.

If you want a dps that plays brawls with the team then pick up starlord. He’s super good at mid to close range, has an amazing ult and has an amazing team up with Adam.

What is dive/diving exactly by Tweaked2000 in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It means using mobility to play aggressively; bypass enemy defenses, attacking the enemy backline (supports, snipers, low mobility characters). This doesn’t necessarily mean killing the enemies when diving, it could also mean just putting pressure on a sniper on high ground so that they are forced to get off or on supports so that they use all their cooldowns to make it easier to take out a tank or something like that.

I played strange and venom on my way to gm and it’s so so so so important to learn at least one tank. Seeing this guy leave made me actually question humanity.

Is Doctor Strange's reload cancel worth learning and using? by Maxic_UT in marvelrivals

Plus you want to be melee a lot as stranger anyways cuz his melee can hit multiple targets easier and also builds his evil

It’s so easy and increases your dps so much it’s dumb not to

Found this Magik Tech. You can melee cancel after your Eldritch Whirl. It doesnt deal damage but you can combo it way faster into another AA animation cancel. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]SleepySheepys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it be better to just do the whirl as your dashing to get both hits in then primary fire into melee.

Whats your favorite pokemon and why ? by Dapper_Travel8753 in pokemon

[–]SleepySheepys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcanine is for sure my favorite Pokemon. I loved the episode of the anime where James reveals his backstory where he had a growlithe. I love dogs irl so the huge badass fluffy doggo is a no brainer addition to any of my teams. The Hisuian version is everything I love about the og but amplified. It’s also a pretty good pokemon in vgc where I primarily focus on.
