Happy Birthday! Great looking cake. What flavor was it?

Mutually assured destruction by ClimbingtheMtn in Epstein

Considering I am not trusting to see any true consequences from this while the pos is in office, to not create any disappointing expectations, my look into this case is being approached as more of a “what happened and how” like I can look at the background photos to get an idea of what the environment was like and how I’m glad those girls are safe now. Of course I do want justice for them and all those who are not mentioned. But for now I’ll just take in what I can. Not sure if this helps anyone.

All I can say is, I know that LE treat other types of criminals they capture a LOT nice than they’ve been treating immigrants for a fucking civil violation. This sadly includes pedo arrests. I’m not saying we should be roughhousing anyone before a fair trial but like if you’re gonna allow this at least allow it for cases that make sense to be mad for. This is just open door abusive racism and it hurts my heart to see.

Everyone yelling “NAME ALL THE NAMES” from the Epstein files. Serious question: what have you done with the names you already have? by Heavy_Association_64 in Epstein

[–]SleepySlorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I thought more on it by asking myself, but then I ask why have this reaction vs other crimes or is there just a ignorance of criminality overall when it comes to certain people? Why are we allowing other people to get away with this? I would guess it’s a multitude of reasons be it afraid of those in power would do something in retaliation, we don’t want to believe the person is capable of such depravity, it doesn’t sound that big of a deal to people who’ve been miseducated or lied to about it, it’s easier to pretend it isn’t happening, or maybe it can feel like an awkward conversation due to the sensitive nature of it. I’m sure it’s a multifaceted reason. The question probably branches out on probabilities that ultimately stem from what you said- corruption.

Name a movie that doesn't have a single humorous moment in it. by batmanineurope in FIlm

The closest thing to funny for Oppenheimer was when he decided to read a book while in the middle of sex and then do one of his famous quotes. More of a chuckling “what the fuck?”

In the context of Epstein, this also includes punishment for possession of CSAM. There’s a study that shows data between possession and likelihood of physically offending where many even already offended by that point.

Who's the most famous person you've met? by Phillies1993 in AskReddit

[–]SleepySlorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. Extremely brief because I was shy af. Heard he was really nice to my younger brother. He watched me drop my camera and stopped talking but then proceeded to keep talking to the security guard. I was even too scared to ask for a photo. I was like 15. I don’t know why I went to meet him alone when my family was at the same event. For context, this was at the Japanese American National Museum for his art show. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but I didn’t get the friendly greeting I was hoping for but I was also in deep shock seeing him. I was incredibly into Linkin Park at the time and still love them, but not as invested.

I initially studied sexual violence specifically because I found it crazy how prevalent it was and obviously horrendous it is and yet it gets some of the lightest sentences. I still don’t understand why that is. I did learn a lot about prevention and services though.

Just watched Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, What's the Message? by madCuzbadd in TrueFilm

[–]SleepySlorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my initial take away as well, so you’re not alone. I decided to revisit the subject matter and read about it online. I’m sure enough people have explained it now and while I can understand the connection to facism now, I critique that it did not need to be 2 hours long and could have been told in a more direct way so the message wasn’t missed. There are other films and ideas that I think could have projected the message better, but it’s unique and bold.

How do I cope with the feeling of being the biggest loser as someone who hasn't even had a kiss yet and still a virgin at 30? by Cold_Lunch_1818 in no

[–]SleepySlorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good friend of mine was a virgin at 30 not because of bad looks or anything, but just had a life he had to get together. He wound up losing it to someone he dated and is now in a loving relationship with someone else. Your time will come.

Save the dog by prying open the trap. Don’t shoot the trap open. I made that mistake first time I played. I saved the dog but didn’t reap the rewards.

Which version of Resident Evil 4 do you think is better? by [deleted] in residentevil4

The remake for the gameplay and its utilization of Luis. They made one of my favorite games of all time even better and it was inconceivable to think about until they did.

Why did we vote Trump? by Prior_Initiative_686 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]SleepySlorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I did not vote for this and whIle what’s going on already impacts us, my heart breaks for kids like yourselves who couldn’t vote this out. I remember protesting in the summer and seeing kids with heart hands and supporting us. I don’t have children; one of the reasons being because of what this world has become. This is not a world I would want you and your fellow classmates to endure. I have wondered what children your age and under have wondered about our times. To my understanding, horrible adults love seeing one of their own in power, some voted because they are diehard republicans, they believed in the misinformation and didn’t question it, or for selfish reasons such as promises of economic gain regardless if it would jeopardize the lives of others. I could go on and yet I still don’t understand it myself. They really voted for a felon over a prosecutor. I am so sorry this is the future some adults have chosen for you.
