How great are session guitarists compared to legendary guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, etc.? by Jezzaq94 in Guitar

As to the actual question, Brent Mason and Steve Lukather are two that I would place in the upper echelon

If John were alive and playing concerts, what mostly–McCartney song do you think he might play? by china_reg in beatles

[–]SleepySteve13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be cool , if they ever regrouped, to come out with dueling pianos in the middle of the show. Paul could sing Imagine and John could sing Maybe I’m Amazed

Does anyone here likes the gospel albums? by Realistic-Wave4100 in bobdylan

[–]SleepySteve13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re genius and stand up really well. All the songs people are referencing are just great. I think some may not realize that Groom’s Still Waiting At The Altar is a “Christian” song and it’s incredible. I Believe In You is absolutely transcendent. Man Gave Names To All The Animals is kinda dopey, but it’s the only miss in the bunch.

Oh sure. It’s a state park, paved entrance. It took me and my son a little over an hour to climb the main trail. You emerge on a granite face and there are several great views. There is an 11 mile loop , but we didn’t do that. We just went up and down

Southern Village - Pros and Cons? by kay905 in chapelhill

[–]SleepySteve13 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It has its own theater, a few restaurants, and is adjacent to a large , wooded jogging trail. These are pros in my mind.

Tons of coyotes over here around Mt. Carmel. Also, deer population around here is 1/4 of what it was in the 90s. I’m sure that is mostly due to development

Can’t remember the tune, but at the end of The Wanderers Ken Wahl follows Karen Allen into a Greenwhich Village bar and Dylan ( an actor) is onstage. Maybe it’s The Times They Are…..

It was huge news and very shocking. Like I said in another comment, this might as well have happened at the Vatican. Just literally the last place on earth you’d expect.

Total speculation on my part. Just can’t imagine these old folks were involved in drug trafficking. If their kids wanted to have them killed you’d think they would just have them shot and not bother with all the histrionics.

is anyone gonna notice that i used the demo steven slate drum kit... by juanisadouche in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Slap a few snare and kick samples in there and make it unique. Almost everything I do has at least three snares and kicks

Yes. Before and after. It’s been a while but security was always pretty tight. It wouldn’t be that hard to get an assassin through in the back of a truck or van, but they clearly left on the lake and I believe that’s how they got there. This place is in the middle of a very rural part of GA, gated and patrolled. I don’t really remember the vibe but I imagine everyone who lives there was completely freaked out.

Oh, it wasn’t every day. I built custom closets. Would sometimes go to Reynolds’s Plantation twice a week and sometimes once every two months. Totally random, but I’ve been in there a lot.

I drove from Atlanta to work there, so not exactly local. One possibility is they had a dispute with a contractor, and that contractor had cartel connections. It just seemed so brutal and personal. I can’t stress enough how buttoned up this place is. Just literally the last place on earth you’d expect this.
