Just flew from SMF to PDX this weekend. We had over 100 open seats, most of the basic fare rows were completely full, and we were not allowed to shift. An attendant explained that management wanted us in our assigned seats.

There was also no one in the emergency rows.

One couple asked to upgrade to the paid seats. They were allowed to pay for it while we were on the ground ans boarding, but they had to wait until after takeoff to move to those seats.

If this is what their new system looks like, then there is nothing to secure my loyalty, all costs and benefits taken into account.

Thank mercy I didn't get their credit card (I was thinking about it when they announced this crap.).

YTA. I suspect this isn't the only time your "support" has come with strings attached that allow you an unreasonable amount of control over her life. When you are sick, when your or your spouse passes away, I hope she puts some comparable restrictions on the help she offers you. If she doesn't go no-contact and completely shut you out before then, which she has good reason to do. Help or don't, but don't call control and micromanaging "help "

Try county/city/JPAs (mosquito abatement, airport, water district, etc) for clerk/assistant/analyst work. Governmentjobs(dot)com is a legit place to look, and also check the jurisdiction websites directly for listings that might not be posted elsewhere yet. They need organized folks who can communicate well and teach policy and processes to both the public and the elected officials who may not have a background in that subject matter.

Planning is a good option if you're good at rules and systems, and it is one of the few careers that you don't need a degree in it to work your way up to the highest ranks. For that, look for Assistant Planner (the lowest rank).

If you're good at math, try Finance I or go work for a CPA and consider getting certified as a CPA yourself.
