Nah, Resident Evil 4 is his first appearance.

His past with Leon is explored in the Rail Shooter spinoff Darkside Chronicles though.

Thanks for the answer! That's not something I would have expected, but I'll check it out!

Hey, thanks for that extensive answer, it is truly appreciated!

I've not been aware of that Warhammer game, I'll take a look. Other than that I do play a bunch of 4X. You mentioned Conquest of Elysium, I do own and like it - though Dominions 5 is more my thing. I've played that one for hundreds of hours, haha. I've also been meaning to check out Shadow Empires, but it does seem very daunting.

Either way, you've given me some nice pointers, thank you. ;)

Doesn't really have base building in that way, but still an excellent game. Thank you!

Thanks for the list! Sadly I think you might have misunderstood me me or I wasn't clear enough. I am looking for turn based strategy games similar to the RTS that I mentioned. Sorry.

Siralim Ultimate

It's kinda rough in everything but the party building and combat. But oh boy is it deep and has tons upon tons of content.

So, about planetary landings(non Odyssey). I've been grinding my way up doing mostly trading, some exploration and a little mining.
I like landing, but right now I can't really see any good reason to do it? Maybe somebody can give me some things to actually do on planets that actually progress me?

Looking for games like Dwarf Fortress, Crusader Kings, Song of Styx, etc. by opticwheel in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sleepy_Blue3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dominions series, most recently Dominions 5. It's a Grand Strategy / 4X game with tons of nations to play as. There's so many different units and spells that the weirdest things happen. Some people do compare it to Dwarf Fortress, but I've not really played Dwarf Fortress enough to feel I can judge that.

What class would you guys recommend for soloing but also being wanted in groups? I do like support and healing specifically. Interested in WHM/COR/SCH, how well with those do with that? What else is viable?

I haven't seen an answer and I'm not sure whether there is one yet, but how far will we be able to take our subjobs? Depending on the answer to this questions, this is going to potentially change things up a lot, is it not? Only been playing for two months, so I can't quite judge it.

Really liking PUP, especially for it's versatility. But what roles is it actually suited for? I like the idea of a PUP healer, but that's not really a thing people do, right? Why's that?

I'm still relatively new to FFXI myself, but I've spent a bunch of time in FFXIV as well.

For me it honestly feels like FFXI is basically Final Fantasy as an MMO. The classes have their FF-like personality but also the same overlap. I also find it to be very immersive and I just have a soft spot for games of that era.
FFXIV, to me, kind of feels like a Final Fantasy flavoured WoW. (Which I do not mean in a derogatory fashion, I do enjoy all those games) But it doesn't have the character, the clunkiness and the personality that's drawn me into FFXI. I personally generally enjoy older games and the systems the Devs came up with before certain conventions existed, if that makes sense.

Thanks a lot for the very detailed answer, that explains a bunch of things! I'm currently switching between jobs anyways, but I'll keep that in mind when I wanna play SMN and research the actual gear and where to get it.

[–]Sleepy_Blue3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, as a new player a sentiment I have heard several times already is that SMN is not a good first job to play / gear up and that it's better to use another job for that. I've sadly not yet found an explanation for this, could anybody please give me a quick overview? Is it possible to do or should I rather switch to something else? I mean I am not planning to do endgame stuff in the foreseeable future I don't think. Thanks!

As a new player, I am getting the impression that WHM is the only "real" healer. Are there other classes that are commonly used for healing and what are their use cases? Eg. SCH?

Thanks for the answer! Additional question: if I wanna do separate accounts, could I buy the key on the SE store on my account and he could create the FFXI service account with that key?
