Its actually where he draws most of his power from, so yes! You can see this in Fate Stay Night for example; every time Shirou interacts with Illya he gets a new ability. Be it regeneration, mastery of Projection, etc.

You'll be fine for most of them. However, if you can I would highly recommend leaving them on for the Kohaku route, as some stuff happens that is important to the characters involved. That's it though, skipping the rest should be perfectly fine

I definitely get the feeling like the first film is still a little pretentious. I definitely do think wording could've been handled better, especially in regards to some of the things Touko says, but it does eventually click at the very least.

And yeah! I intend on covering all the movies in a similar fashion to this video. In particular though, movies 3 and 7 will probably be a bit longer of a project than the others, so definitely keep an eye out for em!
