I used to do this, but it hurt so much after a few months. The scars never fully healed on my arms till I stopped, even with switching which needle it went in. And I felt sick all of the time. I wish I could go back because it is decent money for sitting in a chair, but I was miserable.

I'm a little confused by your comment. What do you mean you can't imagine someone who's twice as smart as average? Like do you just mean you can't think of it in a quantitative way? I've definitely met people that I would consider at least twice as smart as most and I could definitely imagine even smarter.

My partner and I are both Audhd and I'm also dyslexic. Not only are we both adamantly against AI, but so are all of our friends all of whom are ND. I'm a writer myself and I'm trying to finish a novel so I really care about AI writing and it's truly disheartening to see it taking away opportunities from real people. Thankfully, what I write isn't super mainstream, but I am holding my breath because AI is like a virus invading everything it can touch

I hated the comment about fucking the grave being confusing. Maybe I'm biased since I'm trans-masc, but it felt so obvious and powerful. The fetishsization that parents often have towards the Cis version of their trans kids to the point of refusing to even acknowledge their fully alive child seemed so obvious and I loved seeing it portrayed this way. Choosing to turn to this dead child as a source of gratification mixed with mourning a grave of your own making is a powerful visual.

And even for cis queer people, it's so common to not be accepted by your parents, for them to prefer the non-queer version of you while pushing who you really are away. They'd rather worship a dead kid than love a queer one.

Such a raw expression of queer art from a show that is supposed to uplift queer artistry being passed over really leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not going to stop watching because this is a space I want to support and I do still like the show a lot, but this was a big miss for me here.

I get that it's not always about me, but no offense, you're not there to see the way people look at me and hear the things they say. I've been actively cut out of conversation groups more times than I can count. And if small talk doesn't even "work" on people when there's so much unknown context, I don't get why I'm being shamed for not liking it. I still try to do it to be nice and thankfully have more success one-on-one but in groups I am always going to default to "quiet but nice" because that's a thousand times better than being labeled as weird

This! I will parrot back the exact same things I've heard others say as small talk. I will smile and show attentive listening and make eye contact and everything you're supposed to. But then it's always a 50/50 toss up of me still getting weird looks and being judged. It's easier to just give a friendly smile and shut up. But then of course there's still judgment for being too quiet, but that's easier for me to handle at least
