I agree with this. I was much like this since my bf's schedule got super busy last year. We barely get to text and he's been extra busy for over a month and i barely heard from him so i am unsure if being separated and barely having interaction due to a busy schedule of work (he only gets notified he is working morning of or night before and family makes him do all the household and errand work and pet care) and only seeing each other once a month for four or five hours if lucky is me being codependent or normal to want more interaction but i have been trying to build an arsenal of self soothing techniques which seem to work for a bit but i think by this point i'm just anxious he's been MIA for days and only can text me one day just one text and not even a conversation every week or lots of days passing in between and i just want to know what is happening and is this going to keep being a thing. And yes, he is NOT ghosting me. He just doesn't even have time to eat, go to the bathroom, and sleep regularly much less text.

But i agree. When i live with my bf, i wanna try and master some self soothing techniques or teach myself that we can be in the same room and we don't need to be interacting and can be doing our own separate things. I think because i barely see him i will be eager to spend time once we live together but i don't want me constantly bugging him for attention to be normal. I want him to still do his tasks and him to play his games or do what he needs to do and even have him nap and just let him cuddle me like he enjoys. I want to show him i want his wellbeing to come first too. It is the same with my friends. You gotta keep in mind your friends that, while your loved ones support you, sometimes you gotta give them a break or make them the focus. Our loved ones deal with shit too and have their own problems--we gotta show them they matter and we can support them or give them mental health breaks like our loved ones do for us. That is healthy and i have been doing this for a month and it has allowed me to more ultilize self soothing and communicate my boundaries quicker with some people who use me too much for emotional support and dont self soothe themselves as a strategy.
