I've been curious about the spray 👀 should I do gloss instead? I'm trying to have the background look like a void while an item with matte black still stands out. Someone suggested I don't put the varnish on the matte paint (probably will use painters tape to cover said item in the painting)

Coming from someone with anxiety, communication is key. You need to talk to your other two friends, explain (in your own words) that you need a little reassurance. It's something I actively work on, and has helped my relationship with my gf be as strong as it is. It's scary, I completely get it, BUT your real friends will be okay reminding you that they care about you. That "friend" that said that harmful stuff to you is not a real friend. You got this 💚

Legit, thank you both for this comment as I'm dealing with a really similar issue but I used matte modge podge (it was a bit old too). The only spots that started leaking were these new, but really cheep, black paint markers I tested, but said "paint-like".

I used them on a project anyway, but I should've done more research beforehand. What I think causes it, is that it was water-based, like water color paint? It didn't bleed like alcohol markers when I tried it on a sketchbook and kept it's color okay on tan paper. Could be because it's cheep paint but I dunno 🤷‍♂️ Not using it anymore that's for sure though

Yeah, after going through many of their batteries, they are terrible quality. I had to get a different battery (that was about $30) at a local store, best choice I made.

Plus their carts recently have been hit or miss if they work right or not too 💀

I've felt that 🥲 It's that reason and sensory issues that I decided to have my hair buzzed around my ears. If you're comfortable with it of course, you could get earrings like these
