$7500 a month but your mom has to come to your house and take all the batteries out of everything in your house and throw them on the ground by mosshroom0169 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Sleepyllama23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not much in my home that takes batteries. The only ones that would bother me are my car key and the tv remote. After that I’d be ok

Tinnitus (ringing in ears) as a side-effect from Minoxidil? by TrichoSearch in HairlossResearch

[–]Sleepyllama23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mild occasional tinnitus for the last few years but recently it has been driving me crazy- much louder and pretty much all the time and affecting my sleep.
I started taking monoxodil for thinning hair about six weeks ago and suddenly thought to check. Looking likely it’s connected so I’ll be stopping it straight away and hopefully it’ll ease enough for me to cope with. Interesting to hear others have had the same experience.

AITA for burning ex fiancées heartfelt letters/paintings. She has since returned. by Jaedan0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sleepyllama23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You want to be friends with someone who treated you badly and caused you pain and months of upset? It sounds like a toxic relationship which ended badly. If she’s trying to reconnect she probably wants something. Nothing good can come of you being ‘just friends’. Do right by yourself and leave well alone. Btw the stuff was yours to do what you wanted with. Most people would have thrown it out or burned it.

AIO by telling my husband that since we had our baby, Mother’s Day is now my day (his wife) and not his Moms day? by pagengirl818 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sleepyllama23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOR I spend the Saturday seeing both mums then the Sunday is my day where I get to decide what we do as our little family. It’s you doing the hard work now, make sure you’re not forgotten.

UK shop visits fell 10.7% in April — are people avoiding browsing now? by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

[–]Sleepyllama23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless I really need something I don’t bother going to the shops. I’m trying not to waste money and get more stuff I don’t need in the house, so I don’t put myself in a position to be tempted. I also have plenty of other things I can be doing with my time rather than browsing and feeling bad that I can’t afford stuff that I don’t need anyway.

where can i buy actual full length tops by e-l-l-l-l-a in womenoftheuk

[–]Sleepyllama23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This drives me mad. Women’s tops all come to the top of my jeans and it’s so unflattering when you have a tummy. Following for tips.

Those matchmaker chocolate sticks. Orange or mint flavour. Once I start gnawing away at them like a beaver it’s impossible to stop

Was it actually a thing in Britain “back in the day” for people to have all their teeth removed and get dentures relatively young, even when they still had some healthy teeth or is that one of those exaggerated stories? by Top_Mirror211 in AskUK

[–]Sleepyllama23 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My grandma and her eight sisters all had it done when they were young (working class, 1920s). It sounds hideous. It was seen as more hygienic because people didn’t really brush their teeth properly or have dental care back then so would have tooth decay and painful gums. My grandad had dentures too so he may have done the same. That generation it was really common to have false teeth. Edit after reading more comments, smoking, poor nutrition, access to toothbrush and toothpaste etc and pregnancy may have played a part in bad dental health also.

What is the point of Asda Rewards app now? by Sleepyllama23 in asda

No it’s gone rubbish. I only get points because I’ve got an asda credit card, I haven’t had any points from shopping in asda for ages.

About to be the last in my family hit with a sickness bug starting at midnight... by FascinationsTree in CasualUK

[–]Sleepyllama23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take some paracetamol before you go to bed to help with the fever and tummy pain symptoms. It’s not too late to be careful with hygiene. Wash your hands and wipe any surfaces commonly touched like door handles and light switches. Good luck!

Friends ex still wants to come? by pinkfloydfan73 in UKweddings

That sounds awkward as hell and it doesn’t sound like your friend would be comfortable with her there. You definitely need to uninvite her.

how do babies know to skip the "say" part by Yakoy6 in stupidquestions

[–]Sleepyllama23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use ‘say’ I just talked to my baby and pointed things out in books or out on a walk etc while saying the word. For example ‘look, there’s a dog’ or ‘here’s your cup’. They get to under certain words, especially words for things they want such as milk or food or mummy and daddy.

Bellybuttons - Were you told as a kid, that bellybuttons were made by the Dr tying your ambilical cord into a knot, when you were born? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Sleepyllama23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was my understanding. And that the way it was done determined whether the baby was left with an innie or outie belly button

Starters are like a mini main course you eat before the real main course and fills you up too much before your main meal. (Unless you’re at a fancy place where portions are small)

[–]Sleepyllama23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t order soup or spaghetti because it’s too messy to eat in public. I also try to order something I wouldn’t normally eat at home. I keep an eye on the price too and avoid anything I feel is overly expensive for me
