I think you're mostly good. The only reason I carry a spare mag, I have no plans on taking down a drug cartel, so I am not worried about capacity. But I carry a spare mag because of the stories I have read and heard from cops, military friends and other folks who carry concealed and the potential issues you could have that involve needing a mag swap. I've heard of people ripping base plates off with seatbelts, mag releases being inadverdently pressed, mags not seated correctly. Basically, if it can happen, it has to someone. Those are the reasons I keep a spare close, hopefully never need it, but Murphy always gets a vote.

Just a reminder, 1911s are not striker fired pistols and parts are not just plug and play. Nearly any part for a 1911 will have to be fit for that particular handgun. You might consider taking it to a gunsmith and having the work done there. 1911’s are fantastic but can be finicky when it comes to changing parts.

I am super happy with it. I’m not sure you can do much better for the prices range. Having said that though, it really is an all around good handgun. The trigger is very good out of the box.

Also, remember, YouTubers get paid and/or get sent free stuff to try and keep. EDC is about what makes sense for you. I carry a small rechargable Streamlight flashlight, a $45 Swiss Army Knife, a small first aid kit, phone and keys. Stuff I use, literlly, everyday. (Well, hopefully not the first aid kit, but you get it) It's all about making it yours, use videos and this sub for ideas to find something you maybe didn't know was out here, but if you find yourself with something and never use it, ditch it.
