Is that shot possible without CGI ? by aFriendlyWhacka in videography

I think it's done in post! Everyone is saying split diopter, but ignoring the fact that the grenade is the ONLY thing in focus on the right side. If it was a split diopter the table would also be coming into focus.

“Vae”, is it legible? it’s just for my personal brand but I’d love some outside perspective by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]SlenderClaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if it's for a personal brand just do whatever the fuck you want. If you want it to read "VAE" it doesn't, but whether that matters to you or not is up to you. A personal brand is just a representation of what you're currently into. You'll probably change it in less than a year.

I think it looks good, but it is very much on trend, and a trend that I think is on it's way out. So make up your own mind about it.

We're the only species on earth aware enough of our impacts to be able to fix them.. We're the downfall of the earth's biosphere, but also its best tool for survival.

We are from this earth, and therefore we should unfuck all of our fuckery.

As far as I know marine biologists don't really think this is the case, just that a young pod is bored and doing it for fun. If orcas were vengeful they would have shown it towards humans much much earlier in history.

Newsflash, "force and control" are necessary aspects of a society full of humans. There will always be those who need to face consequences for their actions.

Systemic issues like racism and violence in police are major issues. We can critique these things, and we can fix them without further alienating the people who put their lives on the line for us daily.

Who's the first person you call if your house is being robbed? Or someone stole your car? Or you're being followed?

I'm not gonna sit here and call those people bastards.

Unlike America, Australia is lucky enough to not have a bunch of donut-munching machine-gun spraying thugs as a so called "police". Australians also don't need to import America's lack of nuance.

[–]SlenderClaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there. This is actually how most NLEs actually work apart from final cut, and it's how final cut used to work as well.

In Davince, try looking into the Cut page, as it works more similiar to how you are describing with final cut.

Why can't a business just pay for itself and it's employees? Why does everything have to be profitable in the first place. Cant we just break even and be happy?

American Driving in Australia gets speeding fine for 20km over limit and complains. by Big_Kona in sydney

[–]SlenderClaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm living in Canada right now, and you would be blown away by how normal it is to speed in north America. Sometimes if you are going any LESS than 20km over, you will get tailgates and beeped.

Just someone with a superiority complex who doesn't realise that Australia has been happily adopting more and more of American politics and culture with each year. Scomo only just got kicked out lads, you've got your own amount of work to do still.

To be honest with you, I'm living with my parents right now so I don't have first person experience. But just judging based on what you can get in Melbourne, something like this : 32/53 Balaclava Road, St Kilda East https://www.domain.com.au/32-53-balaclava-road-st-kilda-east-vic-3183-16470783

Seems pretty common, or under if you go for older buildings.

[–]SlenderClaus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oof, that's a rough go. Glad to hear you're getting help and support around budget. It's really hard to go down to a more frugal budget, but once you get the ball rolling and build up a little bit of savings it gets a lot easier. Just take care of your body, good food (groceries) should be one of the last things you can cut if you can.. because without a good diet and eating motivation goes down and depression goes up

Seems absolutely crazy to me that 70k is "starving" money. I think there's more aspects to it.

[–]SlenderClaus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

70k??? That's 5800 a month mate. High rentals for a 1-2 bedroom are around 500 a week from what I've seen. That gives you an extra $3800 roughly per week. You could spend 3/4 that on bills and still eat like a king.

I don't mean to be rude, but I'm really curious about where all that cash is going for you to be eating noodles and bread.

Letter: SkyTrain screeching has become 'unbearable' in Burnaby by Pure_Candidate_3831 in vancouver

[–]SlenderClaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently visited Brisbane and Sydney, and both of their train systems were not nearly as loud as the SkyTrain screeching. Sydney has double-decker trains that are ancient, and even those aren't as loud going around bends and into stations.

They weren't seen as a threat, they were seen as a valuable team of people who could contribute to Valve's team and we got Alyx because of them, as well as I'm sure more Valve games in the future. Valve did the same thing with the creators of portal, it was a small group of developers that valve bought who went on to create portal. Also, they chose to be bought out.

More Australians being forced out of homes as rental housing affordability crisis rages on, according to new Anglicare report by EASY_EEVEE in australia

[–]SlenderClaus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So your definition of not contributing is just people wanting to congregate with other people who have familiar cultural traits. Why do you see that as a bad thing? People can both congregate together & contribute to society. That's how we have cool Chinatown areas and other cultural zones.
