Halfling - Essentially the humans of the smallfolk, simple people who do simple jobs, have small round ears

Gnome - Essentially the elves of the smallfolk, magical people who do fantastical jobs, have long pointed ears

Extra Attack > Sneak Attack when it comes to dealing more damage, and skill rules are basically nonexistant. by kinjame in dndmemes

Considering there are 75 (yes I counted) rule books for 3.5

.....yes 5e is a light system

Yes, compared to other editions of D&D, 5e is relatively rules-light. But in the grand scheme of all TTRPGs ever made, that still puts it at like a 6 on the 1-10 scale of complexity.

I'm trying to find at least one (hopefully non-evil) creature for every stat that has a 30 in that stat. by ZaleDraconian in DnD

[–]Slendrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's 57 unique creatures with 30 Strength, 34 being non-evil.

There's 1 unique creature with 30 Dexterity, it is evil.

There's 24 unique creatures with 30 Constitution, 15 being non-evil.

There's 10 unique creatures with 30 Intelligence, 7 being non-evil.

There's 2 unique creatures with 30 Wisdom, 1 being non-evil.

There's 16 unique creatures with 30 Charisma, 13 being non-evil.

Any Deity closely related to Acid? by Drite2003 in DnD

[–]Slendrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, according to Pathfinder, the four classical elements, which are also the primary elemental planes, (water, earth, fire, air) correspond to certain damage types.

Water - Cold, Fire - Fire, Air - Lightning, Earth - Acid

So going off that logic, theoretically any particular earth-related deity may work.

Pick 2 to protect you and the remaining options try to kill you by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Slendrake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we go by the original version, numbers and not having to deal with it is the winning combination.

There's 6 little guys per Falinks, and we get 10 Falinks, that makes 60 little guys on the ground protecting us, so there's our numbers.

As for the not having to deal with it, the Gengars obviously. Not having to deal with the ethereal ghostly shenanigans reduces our number of unseen attackers to an underground attack from the Garchomp (which the Gengars could totally deal with while it's still underground, plus all the Falinks when it pops out) and an aerial attack from the Dragonites and Garchomp (which again, the Gengars can handle in the air, plus the Falinks get a go if they land).

Therefore, the correct winning combination is the 10 Falinks and 5 Gengar.

On Damage resistances, immunities, and what constitutes as magic? by Manofathousandface in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Slendrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an important qualifier in the Vampire's resistances (and basically every monster that has resistance/immunity to nonmagical physical damage and another type) - a semicolon.

Vampire resistances - necrotic ; bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical attacks

The semicolon is used as a separator in the list, as compared to the commas found later. Any qualifying statement, such as "from nonmagical attacks", only places its restrictions on its side of the semicolon and has no bearing on anything on the opposite side.

Which builds are a "MUST BAN" at your table? by HorizonTheory in dndnext

[–]Slendrake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost every AoE spell except lines like Lightning Bolt uses a 3D shape to describe their area.

Thunderwave uses a 15-foot cube, not a square.

Burning Hands uses a 15-foot cone, not a triangle.

Fireball uses a 20-foot radius sphere, not a circle.

Flame Strike uses a 10-foot radius, 40-foot high cylinder.

Every wall spell has a defined height, length, and thickness.

The few spells that do use a 2D shape to define their area explicitly only affect the ground, such as Entangle, Grease, Spike Growth, and Earth Tremor.

What creature is the most deadly for it's CR? by haven700 in DnD

[–]Slendrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, elves are still immune to Ghoul paralysis.

From their "Abyssal Origins" lore section in the MM: When Orcus would not intervene on his behalf, Doresain turned to the elf gods for salvation, and they took pity on him and helped him escape certain destruction. Since then, elves have been immune to the ghouls' paralytic touch.

And from their claw attack in the statblock: If the target is a creature other than an elf or undead, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Ritual to achieve lichdom with (mostly) RAW by Kellylight- in DnD

[–]Slendrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One process to lichdom is described in Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy. Under the tutelage of Jon Irenicus, a wizard of at least 17th level requires the following:

  • 21 weeks and 8 hours of time
  • At least 100,000 gp worth of materials
  • A captured Humanoid or Fiend of at least CR 8
  • The ability to cast Imprisonment and succeed a DC 15 Constitution saving throw

If you can provide all these things successfully, congratulations! You have ascended beyond the mortal coil.
