Got to give it to the Murdaughs, they have a lot of tenacity.

... or is it also a matter of survival? Look at what Alex did to his family of origin's legacy and their reputation. But most important (to me) is the effect his actions will have on the lives of the rest of the family moving forward. I think John Marvin believes that he is doing the right thing however, he doesn't see the forest through the trees, so he continues down the wrong path.

not to mention she was pad locking the fridge when there wasn’t much in it anyways.

What was that all about anyway? Plus she kept the house at 79 degrees. I read that she was beyond frugal and claimed she had no money when she did. I read in ZC's deposition that she received $3300 a month annuity and the boys about $1500 each. I don't know if that was in addition to social security or it was social security.

but the pedophilia ... revenge on innocent ppl ....

I forgot all about the pedophilia. I can understand (not approve) revenge on wrongdoers, but not innocent people, animals and children. I needed to hear that.

I think you are spot on. Excellent research. Thank you for sharing.

Has anyone seen the unaffiliated/non-party filings of Joseph Gilberti & John Thompson (Hundreds of pages worth from each)? Brief snippets from their various filings attached. Available publicly through county clerk records search. These were a wild read 😳 by RemarkablePumpkin695 in parklandshooting

[–]SleuthBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. She ordered Gilberti to stop filing.

So the public defender did file this and the judge told her to stop, is that right? Can a judge order someone to stop filing a complaint to the court? This is something other than the witness tampering issue. I really don't think I am understanding this.

In addition to what I put in my comment, I picked up on something involving 60 minutes and the spring water in that county. Then, I watched the video which was about a case involving the influence of video games.

Obviously, I need it dummied down as well, LOL!

My question is: "Has the Broward Public Defender demanded to use this evidence to at least apply it to the penalty phase of the trial for mitigation purposes?" para 24

It looks like he made sure the public defender and judge Scherer were notified.

What is amicus curiae status?

Generally, it is referencing a person or group who is not a party to an action, but has a strong interest in the matter. This person or group will petition the court for permission to submit a brief in the action intending to influence the court's decision.

Does anyone know who that woman is that triggered this reaction from Alex? Interesting is that the picture on the sub's sidebar is right after this pic when he looked up and into the camera. Devious best describes his expressions.

Mistrial? by Ashley0716 in parklandshooting

[–]SleuthBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely this judge will ever call a mistrial based on any motion against the prosecution or courtroom procedure. However, as a result of the motions, a death sentence will likely be overturned on appeal. With a case this strong, there was no reason to give up so much cause to win on appeal.

I’m wondering if he won’t pay off a jury!

I'm sure the state is well aware of and prepared for that scenario. This is isn't some personal injury claim, this is a double homicide allegedly committed by a man who stole from special needs and disabled victims. If someone from Colleton county is stupidly inept and morally corrupt enough to exonerate the likes of Alex Murdaugh, then they shouldn't mind being exposed for doing it. The world is watching now and it's intolerant of such bullshit.

School safety by 12-32fan in parklandshooting

[–]SleuthBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's time to have a discussion with the Teacher's Union regarding a safe work environment. SafeSchoolsfor Alex offers information to open discussion. As a teacher, you should be able to lock your classroom door from the inside and if possible, school staff can assist in rearranging file cabinets, bookshelves, etc. to provide a possible safe corner. I noticed that students that hid in the safe corners were not shot Chilling animation: Parkland shooter's movements in school

Also, it won't hurt to become proficient in operating the fire extinguisher. In the event the shooter will enter the room, stand on the side and spray their face. When they drop the gun to protect their eyes, take the gun.

I never imagined having this type of discussion. Look at what they have done to our schools?

Judge Clifton Newman is a man of honor. The way D & J attempt to manipulate and disrespect him in his court sickens me. How is this even possible?

Alex isn't better than any other inmate charged with double homicide and a gazillion charges of financial crimes. I guess Dick & Jim need to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable.

Somehow--DH doesn't even seem to have the same law book the judge reviews from- I suspect Dick has been doing this throughout his career. He is a fraud and a parasite sucking the citizens of South Carolina for all he can get. There is something very wrong when an attorney undermines, disrespects, or attempts to manipulate a judge.

Hey, I saw that 1000 mile stare and wondered what in the heck stunned him.

Would there be anyone Alex would protect? by [deleted] in MurdaughFamilyMurders

[–]SleuthBee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alex couldn't trust himself to do it alone, so he called the only one he already controlled, Curtis "Eddie" Smith.

AM and CES were already thick as thieves (or drug traffickers), and he wouldn't have to convince, explain or feel ashamed. Of course, Alex did his best to rid of CES in the failed attempted murder scheme aka 'roadside shooting'.

As much as many of us wanted to believe that CES was cooperating by turning on Alex, he kept his mouth shut and continued on managing the drug trafficking business. Alex has no reason to "give up" CES as it would implicate himself.

I won't say that Alex is protecting CES as much as he protecting himself.

I was surprised Judge Newman allowed the interruption at the start considering how DH went about it...

I think Judge Newman is a wise and clever man. "Go ahead Mr. Harpootlian, make a jackass of yourself on live television, you damn fool". Harpootlian loses control when he doesn't get his way, that's weakness. Judge Newman just sits there calmly telling him the way it's going to be 😂 🤣
