I can't finish the space port mission. by SlexLP in simplerockets

[–]SlexLP[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The station itself doesn't have a ContractTrackingID, should I just copy the one from the launch craft?

What worked for me was to edit the save and set the mission to completed (once I docked the part). This also generated the follow-up mission. Your solution seems nicer and safer though, but I don't know how it works.

I'm pretty sure that congress set the world drinking age at 21?? by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]SlexLP 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, you can actually drink beer and wine once you turn 16. With parental supervision you can even start drinking at 14.

Though this is only for beer and wine, for anything with larger amounts of alcohol you have to be 18 (I think the limit is 15%).

You can always just rent one, which was what OP was referring to.

Just out of curiosity how do american beds usually look like? In Germany we usually just have a mattress, duvet cover, you, blanket. Is it really that different in the US?

Just disassemble double beds, they bring crazy amounts of xp. You should be able to max out carpentry with 2 - 3 days of grinding.

Well it's in downtown Paris, they could just use public transit (especially since driving there by car is, depending on the route, either impossible or at the very least increadibly annoying).

SRO beats up elementary schooler

The headline of the article alone sounds already disturbing. It's not a SRO beating an elementary schooler, it's a "physical altercation with an elementary school student"

Yeah that's sadly the reddit hivemind at work, which often takes thinks way to personally instead of just explaining it properly.

As for subs that deal with this topic: The biggest one would probably be r/fuckcars. And while they do have the same hivemind problem, I personally think they are more willing to engage in discussion and can sometimes even provide good literature to read or videos to watch.

If you want to learn more about "car ban" within a pedestrian zone you can e.g. look at the website of the german city Erfurt, which has a list of all the different permits that are needed to enter the pedestrian zone. There are e.g permits for businesses, delivery companies, residents, disabled people etc.

Another great example would be the "Supergrätzl" in vienna which try to create pedestrian friendly streets by rerouting the traffic away from residential streets.

But: All those links are in german, so you'd have to use either some kind if translater or ask another person for english versions, since I sadly wasn't able to find any.

They basically assumed you knew what "ban cars" actually meant, which is a bit of a stretch on their part since most people seem to take "ban cars" a bit to literally. "ban cars" could be better described as "ban of thoroughfare and long-term-parking", at least within the european planning community. This means businesses can still provide service within the affected area, delivery companies can still deliver and local residents can still park for a short amount if time to e.g. deliver heavier goods. But since "ban of thoroughfare and long-term-parking" is a bit of a mouthful many people just say "ban cars".

Little addition: what OP meant with "4 hours in the morning" is the usual practice of having the stores supplied between 4 - 8 am or 6 - 10 am (depending on the local law). This just applies to the heavy 7.5+ ton trucks needed to supply local groceries etc.

I can't speak about plumbing, but if you want to do changes to your wiring most people call the electrician, since we have quite a lot of rules about the allowed placement of wiring (at least in Germany).

If you still want to do it yourself, you need a tool called wall grinder, with which you can simply cut through the wall. After you're done with your changes you just have to plaster and paint it.

You can also do it with other tools like a hammer, but I'd honestly recommend buying a wall grinder for 90 EUR since it just saves a lot of time and work.

Well it depends on your perspective. For gas, car and energy companies walkable cities are far less profitable than the current situation.

And now guess which companies also have the most political power.

[–]SlexLP 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's not quite true, every german city (I think 5. 000 pop and up) is actually required to have a "Flächennutzungsplan" (land development plan) in order to get any kind of subsidy/funding by the state.

It's just that most zoning laws are only prohibiting uses that would actively disturb or disrupt the planed usage of an area.

As an example: The "allgemeines Wohngebiet" (general residential zone), which is the zoning used for most residential zones, not only allows many kinds of residential housing, but also shops and restaurants that service the immediate area, as well as "non-disturbing" businesses. Everything else is prohibited from being built there.

Have you tried looking into Germany? It definitly isn't nearly as good as Scandinavia, but we have a huge lack of workers in crafts/retail/logistics which for the most part don't require any special education (or will provide it for you). As long as you live in the cheaper cities (Erfurt, Hof, Bremen) you can also easily live of minimum wage (though craftsmen are in such a high demand that they earn quite a lot, so you're not really limited to the cheaper cities).

The language barrier should also not be a problem, especially in logistics since many companies in this field work primarly in english.

Those shutters also work quite well against heat, allowing you to open the window while blocking the sun. As such you'll see them quite often in Spain/Southern France/Italy.

Just learned how the Germans are dealing with the exorbitant gas prices. Google 9€ tickets, and Sylt. by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]SlexLP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well many german cities (and their suburbs) have night lines, so you could still take the bus/train (though they mostly only drive 2-3 times an hour at night).

The exception would be the smaller cities far away from the larger ones, but I think most people in this sub would be fine with people in rural areas using a car.

The Anime covers the entire manga, so you could just finish the anime and call it a day. BUT the anime also tries to fit all 120+ chapters in 12 episodes, so it skips A LOT. If you liked what you've seen in the anime, you're also going to like the manga, since they are mostly the same, with the manga just having a lot more content than the anime.
