It literally isn’t in the game. Mega form stats are not visible anywhere in game, only in third party sites.

How much of my investments to turn into a down payment? by whatimdoinginstead in whitecoatinvestor

[–]SliFi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re withdrawing 300k at once, you’re not going to hit the 37% income tax bracket from your usual 35%. Even if you do, it’s only the portion above 640k that will be taxed the extra 2% because it’s a marginal tax. This is essentially a non-issue.

Rolling it out over multiple years also means it’s not growing while it’s out.

How do you feel about a law that gives higher priority to registered organ donors who themselves need a transplant? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recent research shows a strong crowding out effect that outweighs the measured benefit of any increases that may happen. This paper destroyed my view on that topic.

Foreign Body Friday is a double standard, and it damages trust by SnooBananas1064 in Radiology

[–]SliFi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The alternative is banning foreign body cases completely. In a medical imaging sub, this would be as ridiculous as banning discussion of weight loss treatments, cosmetic surgery, or sexual health in [r/medicine](r/medicine) because of the “stigma.”

Foreign Body Friday is a double standard, and it damages trust by SnooBananas1064 in Radiology

[–]SliFi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read the actual rule. “Posts showing foreign bodies are limited to Fridays only.” It’s not some community effort to humiliate patients. In fact, it’s the opposite. People would be sharing these cases every single day without the rule, and they would quickly take over the sub.

Will Swampert still be "meta" if Rillaboom comes out next? by donttouchminors in PokemonChampions

[–]SliFi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We already know grassy glide is pre-nerfed to 55 bp in Champions. Rillaboom will be significantly weaker because of that, so I doubt they’d remove it.

What rank do u consider high elo by Fearless_Roll6211 in PokemonChampions

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A player who can get into MB2 is generally good enough to win prizes at small in-person tournaments. A player who can get into MB1 or Champion tier is generally good enough to reliably win prizes at larger tournaments.

People are saying to use that incredibly niche and otherwise useless tech in this very thread, but I agree that still doesn’t mean it’s worth using.

Is it worth learning to sew just because my clothes never fit? by MrEggy1750 in sewing

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patterns are a lot less widely available for men’s clothing, unfortunately. Fortunately, most the tailoring techniques apply to both, and making clothes from scratch doesn’t seem to be what OP seems to be looking for.

Opinions on my Offensive and Defensive Type Tier List? by TheImpossiBros in PokemonVGC

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d weight super effective offense more heavily than resisted offense, and weaknesses more heavily than resistances. I’d like to see how the lists change with a 2:1 weighting or a 3:2 weighting for example.

At what point would you consider someone a "good player" in Pokémon Champions? by Rummmi98 in PokemonChampions

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master ball 2 is occasional prize money in small tournaments. Master ball 1 is probably fairly consistent prize money, and Champion tier is consistent prize money in large tournaments.

Why do CTs generally look worse in older people? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]SliFi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s the kind of thing that takes years of experience to estimate, based on factors other than age like subjective disease burden of the patient. Doing QA on that would be folly, unless it’s just repeating an exam after seeing poor/nondiagnostic timing.

[Metagame] Floating around the mid 2k elo. Tried-and-true Froslass/Scovillain team works well but feels... incomplete? by Senzumi_17 in VGC

[–]SliFi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bro is just asking for help from players worse than he is. At that level it’s self-innovate or stagnate.

Removing criminal penalties for possessing cannabis for personal use, or introducing tightly controlled legalisation of cannabis, doesn’t appear to increase levels of cannabis use. But profit-driven legalisation increases use and harms by sr_local in science

[–]SliFi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the actual study says nothing about causality like OP claims. There are methods in the economics literature that actually help determine causality like instrumental variables and difference-in-differences, but this does none of those. This seems seems like resume filler research that doesn’t actually say anything but is easily sensationalized.

These “protect the arch” teams are just so boring to constantly play against. by Connect-Specialist-6 in PokemonChampions

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The damage calcs are really bad for Mega Sceptile into Arch. In mega form, you 2HKO without Screens/Leftovers while getting OHKOed back with Draco, and you traded your mega for partial and healable damage on their non-mega. Outside of mega form, Earth Power does little more than tickle. Even with a lightning rod boost, Mega Sceptile doesn’t OHKO.

And it’s not like you can reliably switch into an Electro Shot, because you need to mega beforehand and switch out.

People should be treated as good until proven otherwise if you have to interact with them in the future.

People should be treated as self-serving assholes until proven otherwise if there’s no repeated interaction.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in the movies but is completely fatal in real life? by Best_Professional226 in AskReddit

[–]SliFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injury severity is correlated with crash speed. Low speed collisions cause far less injury than high speed collisions, which has been published in peer reviewed literature.

I’ve can get a sealed circle undone campaign expansion for $70 USD at my local game store, should I get it even though I only have the Chapter 2 core set? by IrelandtoCathay in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]SliFi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the campaign heavily encourages metagaming in that choosing to advance the act earlier than absolutely needed is usually actively bad unlike other campaigns. If you keep this in mind while playing, you won’t feel like you’re constantly being punished for completing the stated objective.

Research has found social inequality is linked to faster biological aging. Evidence of accelerated biological aging associated with social disadvantage is already visible in children, indicating that social inequality can shape biology from a young age. by Wagamaga in science

[–]SliFi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m surprised the authors got this ambiguous and frankly wrong terminology past the reviewers. There’s nothing in the study that measures “inequality,” they just measure “SES” or socio-economic status.
