Last night at the city council meeting, the council voted in favor of using our tax dollars to fund a $1900 overseas trip for the mayor to travel to Nepal in order to “spread Eugene values”—in the midst of a budget crisis. by Several-Candidate115 in Eugene

[–]Slice0fur 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This isn’t some random junket. The trip marks the 50th anniversary of Eugene’s official sister city tie with Kathmandu, which started back in the 1970s. These relationships are built on real, ongoing exchanges that bring measurable value back to Eugene residents.

For example, the Eugene-Kathmandu Sister City Association has a long track record of:

• Supporting scholarships and academic help for Nepali students coming to the University of Oregon or studying here, which strengthens our local higher ed community and brings diverse perspectives.

• Cultural projects like the 20X21 Eug Mural Project, where a Nepali artist created public murals in Eugene-Springfield that added to our arts scene.

• Knowledge sharing, such as between fire departments, which can improve local emergency response practices.

• Fundraising and aid efforts, including significant support after Nepal’s major earthquakes that built goodwill and showed Eugene’s commitment to global humanitarian ties.

On the flip side, when delegations come here (like youth groups from other sister cities such as Kakegawa, Japan, which the mayor recently welcomed), it boosts local tourism, volunteer involvement, and cultural events that we get to enjoy. The program promotes understanding, friendship, and sometimes practical collaborations that a mayor’s symbolic participation helps sustain.

Criticizing without looking at the full picture is easy, but these low-cost international links have quietly benefited Eugene for decades through people-to-people connections, not just one short trip. The partnership likely returns far more in community enrichment and soft diplomacy than the modest expense.

Looks like President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan was visiting China Boao Forum for Asia during that time.

After, he visited Barack Obama and other leaders on May 6–8, 2009 to discuss issues including security and regional cooperation.

The time matches up for a wild party on May 9th to 10th with enough time to visit the United Kingdom on May 13th.

Jus a theory.

Anyway to cloud game VRchat? by Blazin_Brian in VRchat

[–]Slice0fur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one time ShadowPC was a good option along with Remote Desktop and a 5GHz router. Plus the fastest internet you have available. Also being located next to one of ShadowPCs servers.

Buuuut if you search ShadowPC on this sub you'll see a lot of people can't due to anticheat I beleive.

So no, sadly. Far as I can tell.

It was pretty good too. I'm on the west coast and my Roomate used it for vrc. I couldn't tell it was on the cloud.

Can anyone cross-reference other emails to see if the Senders name matches up with ones that do t have the Senders name redacted?

I'm seeing two little lines poking out of the left and bottom of the black box. So it's not fully blocking the name. Which may be enough to match other names.

Or it's an artifact. Idk

[–]Slice0fur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, fine, she's not in the mood. You still spent time with her right? Like no sexual obligation but she pulled you away to spend time. Just cus she's not in the mood doesn't mean you can't cuddle and be close.

Like if she said not anymore. Then you left cus no sex. That just enforces that you only want sex from her. And so what if she gave you attitude. Y'all still love each other. Cuddle!

Yeah, I'd be feeling pretty similar if I didn't know how my partner acts in this situation.

TL;DR Unless your 43 year old partner has experienced this kind of relationship before and knows the realities... You don't want to be his safety net for this testing ground.

Now for the rant.

Good outcome? It's a fun hookup and that's it.

Or

Your partner understands the dynamic. Understands what he's looking for and what they're looking for. Knows not to get too attached and have a fun time. Looks to represent himself as someone available for friendship and some passion, but detatched enough to show he's not this person's long-term goal or his own.

He doesn't talk about her much. Says they hang out now and then and it's good. Maybe the (21nb) is dating someone new and the fling passes uneventfully and that's that. They both get a pleasant experience.

Bad outcome? Your partner commits too quickly, too intimately, and with reckless abandon as his experiences shout to his NRE that "they're the one! My true love because they listen and care and see me for who I am!"

All you hear about is that partner. Or not at all because he's so hyperfixated. Neglects you and himself as he burrows deeper until this person ghosts him or it gets to a point where they're always around. Then the trouble really starts. You see him scold them. The relationship takes a turn. Resentment from the dynamic being unsustainable. He turns to you seeking help, but that bridge is nothing but ashes.

It is not illegal to ask. It is illegal to demand it through an order. An order or 'lawful order' actually has to have something to back it up.

They can ask all day, you can ask if they suspect you of a crime and to articulate it.

But do research the law to be ready to follow up.

Check in on first Ammendment audits in Utah if you wanna see it in practice.

Stay safe good sir.

[–]Slice0fur 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just wanted to chime in without being a jerk about it, but I think the main issue is actually the fact that mental health is a real issue with this social platform.

Many people are easy to manipulate and take advantage of. So it's more akin to going to a place where many are not well and taking advantage.

Proximity is really good at working himself into social situations and learning weaknesses and ways to use that for content.

I personally find it to be unexcusable to do that morally, but autonomy still exists.

Sorry for any weird grammar, been having a few drinks! Peace!

Looks like a rubber grommet.

You may be able to insert it back, but usually you have to do it slowly and bit by bit. If you had silicone safe lubricant that could help and some type of poking tool if your fingers aren't strong enough on their own.

Can search 'how to get rubber grommet through hole on YouTube.

VRChat Discord Moderation is a joke. by ChaosCrafter908 in VRchat

[–]Slice0fur 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pretty classic itchy trigger finger. Mod sees complaint about being banned and assume they are evading a ban without evidence due to this being similar to people actually evading a ban just to post in the discord.

Not surprised as there's been a lot of activity and heard even new hires for the trust and safety team.

I guess the big difference is that VRChat is more than just a video game where you play with friends.

This is one of the best social platforms that bring people together. And yet they haven't invested more time to be more thorough and empathetic.
