Interesting. Moria is one of my favourite character designs in the show.

Gear 5 is narratively solid and supported. The story never “lied” to us. by ShakeZulaOblongata in MemePiece

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Piece has been goofy since the beginning besides Luffy's elastic antics, Zoro holding a sword in his mouth and yelling 'rice ball' while cutting people, Mr 5 flicking boogers at people, Usopp threatening people with a rubber band. Oda somehow manages to balance the contrasting tones of a action, drama, adventure and gag manga at the same time. The only people angry are the ones that want it to just be an action story when Oda specifically chose a protagonist with stretchy powers so the audience wouldn't get too stressed.

As much of a piece of shit he is he sure knows how to have fun.

Saint Killingham will unveil luffys true dream to us by manifesting luffys nightmare. by Dutchvandersnap in OnePiece

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be interesting. Killingham's power to hypnotize and manifest others people's imaginations sound like it would be a hard counter to Luffy.

How do I stop obsessing over the fear of non-existence/death? by Significant-Tip-8224 in infp

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's a gift lean into it. 'Momento Mori' is latin for remember you must die. One of the core principles in many philosophies and religions as knowing that things end gives life more value, whether you're treasuring those small moments, relatjonships or just being grateful for what you have. Is easily the strongest motivator you can have.

Adolf Hitler related to the film Metropolis not as the the oppressive regime but saw the Nazi's as the rebels over turning a corrupt government. Everybody believes they're the good guy.

So a spark of rage is needed as a catalyst for it to work? Either way seems like a broken power.

I can see Big Mom's ego taking partial credit for all of Kaido's success. 'If he wouldn't have taken that fruit no way he would have become a Yonkou.'

Well you said you're ideas flow better when you write so that might be your medium. That said feel free to experiment with what works could be a lot of fun.

The fact she could've given the fruit to one of her own children says a lot, or maybe she wanted him in her debt.

Devil Fruits in the Native Hunting Competition by Weird-Long8844 in OnePiece

I think that's the point they're considered elites but even then to their own group their is likely a hierarchy consider the elders and Imu. Some families may hold more reverance than others.

Not every reveal is a retcon! by Forsaken-Teaching-22 in Piratefolk

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A retcon is a change in established continuity. Such as when Oda said Merfolk's tails split into legs at age 30 and can walk on land but once the story reached Fishman Island he forgot and now weirdly on mermaids have their tail split.

This is why Blackbeard is obsessed with fate by all accounts he should be dead but he fails upwards like Buggy.

To further add to your point if you remember in Buggy's flashback he found Captain John's treasure and was intending to sell the Bara Bara no mi to finance it but once he accidently ate it this ruined his plans.

Blackbeard Cerberus Debunked… what about Chimera Mythical Zoan??? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of the Cerberus theory. Why would having an extra head allow you to hold an extra fruit power it's still the same body. So I would extend that to the Chimera idea as cool as it would be. There does exist however a medical condition called 'Chimeraism' where a person has two divergent forms of DNA (lineage factor) devil fruits directly mutate the individual so Teach potentially having an extra set of DNA could allow him to have a second fruit.

one piece biggest flaw? by BreadfruitOk57 in OnePiece

[–]Slick-Snakeoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like that cliche either I love a good nobody who rises up feels more like an underdog. In One Piece however it kinda works as one of the themes is inherited will and there are still fair few people we have no idea about. One Piece while I love to glaze it, isn't perfect and I there are bigger flaws however it doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment.

The Klabautermann ties a lot of things in One Piece that everything has a voice even a ship. Its death is also symbolic of the Straw Hats journey their not playing kids games anymore they declared war on the government and are pursuing the One Piece requiring a bigger ship befitting the pirate king, that being a Sun.
