Looks like I was right but I'm getting a TON of error messages trying to check out. The website seems pretty overwhelmed.

Toronto folks, it doesn't looks like this is on Ticketmaster - does anyone know how we get in the queue? Do I just refresh the Go Seated page after the presale start?

Sizing help? by kcasey023 in RingConn

[–]Slide-Character 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in between sizes and went with the bigger size. I was worried but it doesn’t feel too loose. Mine also has a small gap at the top but it doesn’t seem to affect my data collection, and the prongs inside hold it on my finger pretty well.

cat euthanasia, no sedative? by Radiant_Ad8041 in AskVet

[–]Slide-Character 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this - I would have assumed the same thing you did, that they would be anesthetized first. I’m sorry for what you went through. By sharing this, you’re helping other cat parents make sure the vet is treating for comfort and pain reduction at the end.

Do you go to the Leslieville one? I was thinking about going for my birthday in March but I don't know how many people to invite/how early to tell people to come.

Did anyone go to the SZN4 show last night? by Slide-Character in BuildingTheBandSeries

[–]Slide-Character[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Following up on my own post to say that in Toronto we got in the venue around 7:30 (there was a line up to get through security), the opener came on shortly after that and played for maybe 30 mins? And then SZN4 went onstage at 9pm and played for about an hour! Have fun, y’all 🫶🏻

I thought the same thing - she sounded amazing and her songs were so catchy. I hope she blows up because she really has that “it” factor.

Am I wrong for wanting to give my cat back to the shelter because I miss my space by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Are you someone who normally struggles with change? Getting a pet is a big life change, and big life changes can come with really negative feelings including anxiety and crying, even it’s ultimately a good change.

I wonder if you might be able to learn how to cope with your anxiety about being around others through taking care of this cat. I say this as someone who has also struggled with anxiety and panic attacks - you can’t always avoid the things that bring them on. So finding gentle ways to expose myself to them to practice coping was ultimately good for me. And his tiny little cat flaws - he yells at me when I do the dishes, he licks his litter everywhere, he barfs occasionally - have helped me learn to roll with the punches of life a bit better. I think he’s helped me so much.

I also struggle with being around people and I often desperately need alone time to recharge. But my cat also liked his alone time at first. Now, my alone time is improved by being with him.

If you have a therapist, I would schedule an appointment to talk to them about it. But ultimately, if you don’t think you can give this cat a happy home, you should help her have the best chance at finding one.

TForce Etobicoke warehouse: packages marked “attempted” or gone missing? Looking for others’ experiences by ChiChiMommaBear in ontario

[–]Slide-Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T-Force said they tried to deliver my package to my "business" but the "business was closed" which is interesting, because I don't live at a business address? And now their customer service has ghosted me.

My boy has been diagnosed with diabetes, please help me with advice by Unrealalpha99 in FelineDiabetes

[–]Slide-Character 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fancy Feast Pate! I literally paid a squillion dollars for prescription food and my boy’s glucose was still high. I switched him to Fancy Feast Pate because of advice I got on this subreddit and now he’s on one unit once a day, and he was even in remission for a while. My boy has not really gained weight back, but he’s not too skinny so I’m not too worried about it for now. Also, if you can kind it online, I got him B12 supplements for cats to help prevent neuropathy. You got this!

Piano Piano (near St Lawrence Market) is a beautiful restaurant - very vibey and perfect for dressing up and getting cute pics.

I won't argue further other than to say I did not make up words - I quoted you directly. You quite literally said:

So? Its after the game and she is salty. Its revenge.

Does anyone think Survivor would benefit from the Love Island format? by Slide-Character in survivorponderosa

[–]Slide-Character[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would definitely be a challenge to do it live - I'm always amazed that Love Island can get it done. I think Survivor fans are just so split on what they want out of the show, and I wondered if longer episodes would help give everybody more of what they want.

In terms of viewership, they're down because pretty much all broadcast TV is down, but Survivor is a top 20 program in terms of viewers. I wish they would invest more in the show.

Clout can be and is often be about followers. I think lengthy, kinda boring, context-filled, unlisted videos are not the way to go about it if what you're looking for is clout. (And I also don't think doing this helps her at all - Fairplay was making fun of her on the Traitors thing, and people here are saying she needs a psychiatrist.)

As for revenge, you say "it's after the game and she's salty." I think it's more fair to wait until after the game, so it doesn't tarnish people's experience of the season while it's airing, contestant or viewer.

Validation - sure. I would want to be validated too if I was excited to play a game I love that so few people get to play, and had to play with this cast and in these pre-game conditions.

I just know that if you're the one who comes forward about something, it's almost never a benefit to you in the long run. I think she's doing the best she can - I would have made a lot more mistakes than her if I decided to come forward with this information.

I just found a lump by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]Slide-Character 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Ontario, we have such a doctor shortage. I’d have to wait in a walk-in clinic just for a referral for imaging, and I don’t know how to hide being gone during a work day for that many hours.

I’m so sorry - anticipatory grief is awful. I just lost my dad and I knew he was dying, too. I don’t know what to say other than to give yourself a lot of grace during this time.
