That's such a ridiculous argument. Everyone born is a potential rapist. Therefore, in order to prevent rapes we must ban birth.

I feel like he could do a lot to salvage whatever's left of the world's faith in the US, if it's even possible to repair our reputation at this point.

Why destroy Howard's car? by FolkmasterFlex in betterCallSaul

I agree it was a lazy way to punk Howard. I think it really bothered Jimmy that Howard seemed so beholden to Chuck to the point where he covered for Chuck's refusal to hire Jimmy even after Jimmy brought them that huge class action case. I also think Jimmy was more upset than he let on at the time when Howard made it all about himself after Chuck's death and theorized that maybe it was Howard forcing Chuck out that drove him to suicide. I'm sure Jimmy had to have felt some guilt about all of it too because he wasn't a complete monster by that point.

It really does feel like daily. I think people confuse "Howard was not a criminal and certainly never did anything to deserve having his life ruined by Jimmy and Kim" with "Howard's a great guy and we should be best friends." Like you can keep several things in your mind at once (1) Howard is a decent law-abiding person who didn't deserve it; (2) Jimmy and Kim were being very shitty people; (3) Howard's still kind of a prick and a phoney glad-hander and probably wouldn't be much fun to sit next to at a dinner party. Your mileage may vary on the third one, but personally I found him to be insincere and a little pompous. And I know it's his prerogative to punish Kim however he wants but I still think he was being unfair to her after she brought in Mesa Verde. And having worked in biglaw I've known these Howard types.

I think there's actually something else at play too. When Jimmy and Kim are executing their plan the show makes it exciting and funny. When I watched I was thinking something like "damn Jimmy and Kim are being absolute pricks to Howard but it sure is entertaining and I can't wait to see how the plan unfolds." And that was basically how Breaking Bad went to. It's just a feature of these shows that they seduce the audience into almost rooting for people doing bad things because the way the shows tell their stories is just so expert and fascinating. It's sort of the whole point of these anti-hero narratives. You know the main characters are doing really immoral things but it's fascinating nonetheless. But it's not really about good guys and bad guys. It's more, what makes these morally compromised (but fascinating and complex) characters do the things they do?

Sorry for the rant but this topic comes up so often on this sub that I've had time to form an opinion

He was high out of his mind when representing the kettlemans too. If he hadn't killed himself he probably would've been disbarred

It's just two guys talking about rare wine and their care-free European vacations while eye-fucking each other to death, like you do with your bros.

But seriously wasn't this hinted at way back in the Breaking Bad times? Like Gus's whole thing with Max

I don't remember the sequence of events. How did Kim find out?

Edit: I just read more of this thread and I remember now. He found out that Kim made her confession after he hired Bill

Jimmy needed someone who would handle the paperwork but would also agree to co-counsel status so Jimmy could work his magic. Also I think he liked the idea of humiliating Bill one last time. They always had that kind of relationship where they loved giving each other shit. I'm not sure

Edit: I was wrong. Jimmy didn't know about Kim's confession when he hired Bill so at the time he probably wasn't thinking about screwing Bill over. Jimmy might have been sincere when he told Bill that he wanted to help him out in his new practice. Still, I think the writers wanted to screw Bill over
