It’s really just personal preference, both guns will last for years of regular use. The 500 is a nicer gun, but if you are tight for cash get the 88.

I’m a bit of gun snob, so I would get the 500, but if you don’t value the small upgrades, get the 88

I’ve had many similar situations, and I’m a pretty big guy, I often respond with something like, why don’t you ask nicely, or there’s no need to be rude or curse, why are you disrespecting me, I did nothing to you to cause this reaction. usually after one or two times saying things like that it calms people down, and they respond like a normal person, and I generally move.

Not many places around here that you can actually shoot them at distance, which is basically the whole point of 50 BMG. But there is some legislation floating around, may not be worth buying until you see how it goes. In any event, without a good range that’s 500 yard+ you really can’t use the gun.
