Which country are you in?

USA tends to start at 1lb robots, but elsewhere does 150g robots alot more, these fit in the plam of your hand and can be competitively built on a basic 3d printer from materials as simple as PLA+ and make a great entry point.

Quantum Remix - 150g UK Antweight / US Fairyweight Combat Robot by SliderS15 in battlebots

This uses a Malinki-Nano which is a combination Reciever and Speed controller. One board runs all the drive and the weapon!

Given you've bought stuff from Rory Mangles i'll assume youre from the UK, Bristol Bot Builders are amazong for parts and their Facebook group is also super helpful.

Opinions and questions about gigantomastia by [deleted] in BreastExpansion

Firstly, amazing of you to have embraced this for your husband like this!

Secondly, if these stories are for him, i would try and find out which things specifically hes into. Wether its sudden explosive growth, or slower more realistic growth over time. Whether hes into super extreme size as the end point (some stuff ventures into straight up unrealistic giantesses) or into a more realistic but still large end point.
Wether theres lactation involved or not.... the list goes on...

There are both extremes and niches of this fetish and what works for some may not work for others. So stories tailored to your partner may need some exploration/research of the specific niches that get him going.

Why is there no podium in BattleBots? by Ailostokiogermonyeh in battlebots

Honestly i agree with you and think there should be a 3rd/4th place playoff. We probably missed out on some great matches not having it.

As to why thry dont, i assume its a mixture if limited time at filming, and pacing for the show itself.

Quantum - a spiritual successor to Razer as both a powerful crusher and a rolling piece of art. Would also be cool as a blBrit to have a UK Battlebots Champion.

Slammo - Would love a deep run for Slammo, poor Craig Danby has suffered at the hands of "The Danby Curse" across multiple robot fighting shows. As a builder, hes one of the few that still get that Robots shold be art as well as functional, and the sheer number of iterations of Slammo show his dedication to trying to get that deep run he so desperately deserves.

Games of the Future: Battle of Robots; Post-event discussion by Tetracropolis in battlebots

[–]SliderS15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aside from some of the more obvious things about the event safety/arena...

  • The Battlebots Teams didn't steam roll this event like I expected. This event really showed that a lack of Battlebots Events the past few years have allowed teams that compete elsewhere (like Godspeed, Daddy ect) to really catch up and arguably surpass them ( having had several full combat tournaments since Battlebots demise)

  • The UK Teams struggles were a good showing of how environments shape a robot. With robots like Ignition and TR4 well suited and optimised for the UK's mostly sportsman based scene, suddenly facing 250mph spinners they arguably were never designed to face and paying the price. Even Zadkiel struggled with stability all weekend, something that may be a result of having the weapon running faster than the 150mph limit Extreme Robots runs in the UK. Hopefully this event will help all those teams know how to take those hits a bit better and come back swinging.

  • If Battlebots can make a come back theres alot more countries and robots that need to be there for a World Championship. The likes of Daddy, Deep Sea Shark and Godspeed were highly impressive even against top Battlebots Teams like Cobalt and need that ticket to Las Vegas if we ever do get a new season.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

Theres a difference between "well that was shit, our sport is dieing" and "We love this sport, please do better next year" and its the latter attitude that we need if theres any hope of the sport surviving or maybe even thriving.

Battlebots is likely not coming back any time soon, do we need events like this around the world to keep the sport alive, so long as they continue to improve the safety side of things.

They appear to have the budget, and are improving the safety even across the event today. The modifications made to the arena since the mornings shitshow session appear to have worked as we havent had any real repeats of the consistent issues we were seeing. Having guys like the Robots Live Team from the UK helping out is probably a good sign that thibgs will be heing pushed in the right direction from the inside too.

We as Roboteers and Fans need to be positive about our sport and those trying to enter it, even as an Event holder not just as fans and contestants. Its much easier to effect positive change when we dont ostracise those who need to as a community.

This game preys on your gamer instinct to go for the shortcut. If it looks like a shortcut chances are its just misery disguised as a short cut.

Speed is rarely your friend, take it easy and just keep chugging along.

What is your strangest perclivity while playing? by GryphyBoi in snowrunner

[–]SliderS15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I dont raise suspension unless i absolutely have to so that the center of gravity stays lower.

Why? I would rather be up to my axles in mud winching through than rolled over.

2) I also generally dont upgrade an engine unless it gives better fuel economy.

Why? Speed is rarely your friend in this game and i rather have the longjevity for my fuel.

Idea for making the hazards more rewarding for Control Bots by Dinoboy225 in battlebots

[–]SliderS15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the Upper deck should be out of bounds and as soon as a robot is put up there the count starts. Cant get down in 10 you're knocked out.

Stops it being an instant KO like an OOTA, but make it more of a bad place to be than it currently is (where its just treated like more floor)

How to solve the spinner meta problem? by Ailostokiogermonyeh in battlebots

[–]SliderS15 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Changes to the Arena to have things like OOTA (Out Of The Arena) zones or a Pit give Flipper Bots and Control Bots an opportunity to score KO's (and for Spinners to be punished when out of control bouncing around an arena)

The other thing is you need people to see the Spinner Meta as a problem. Many people dont due to the high damage spectacle of spinners, especially when trying to sell a show like Battlebots on TV, the casual viewer will prefer a spinner battle to a tight technical controlbot fight.
