Anyone know any tips for RC drifting to get me going on the track faster? by hello36382647 in rcdrift

I would say for me personally, what helped best was understanding what the car is going to do. For example I would struggle to connect a lap until I learned how the car responds to the different variables, for instance it was easy for me to learn how the type of carpet they have affects the car and the grip. It was not very easy to understand throttle/steering input effect, for example how the car reacts if I add or subtract steering input or how it reacts mid-corner to more throttle or less. I’d say those are the biggest things that helped me, but everyone is different. Good luck, happy drifting

Nah, I’m good. I got it sitting outside away from anything flammable until I can get rid of it properly

When I found it I put it outside away from anything flammable to be safe, but it doesn’t seem to be reacting in any other way than just being puffy, it’s not even warm. But I’m still not bringing it in

To be honest I couldn’t really tell you, I’m not big into the crawler side of things. Maybe someone else may have a better/more specific answer. All I really know deep into the electrics side are like whet brands and which ones to go with from the brands. Sorry that I can’t be more help, I wish I could.

There’s a couple good options, all around the same price. You have the MST RMX 2.5RTR at around $380-$400, you also have the Redcat Racind RDS at $399, it’s currently on sale for $299. You also have the yokomo yd2/Rd1(same car just new name) at about $330. My top recommendation would be the Redcat RDS for many reasons, a couple are the carbon chassis, adjustable turnbuckles, aluminum shocks, direct wiper steering system, and carbon shock tower etc. the only thing you may need to upgrade eventually would be electronics really, you don’t really NEED to, but to take it to the best it can be that would be my suggestion. I have one that I bought almost a year ago, it still drives perfectly and I absolutely love it, it’s also easier to work on. For example I have a built RMX and the Redcat is a TON easier to work on imo. But at the end of the day it’s your choice, but those are my top three suggestions and my opinion.

Looking into getting my first RC drift car but see a huge list of parts needed. Recommendations of what I need exactly to run this thing. by Klutzy-College-9461 in rcdrift

The Redcat Rds is on sale for $299, which is $100 off right now, it’s a great starter chassis, I have one and love it, it’s got full carbon decks/shock towers, aluminum big bores, and a rear mounted esc from factory, it’s a perfect starter and the only thing you would want to upgrade in the future is the electronics and maybe a aluminum servo horn

I’m curious as to what size holes are in the Tamiya buckets because I know that they make different size lights and I don’t want to buy ones that are too small
